The news in France continues to be dominated by la guerre en Ukraine<\/strong>1<\/a><\/sup>the war in Ukraine<\/em><\/span> and l\u2019\u00e9lection pr\u00e9sidentielle<\/strong>2<\/a><\/sup>the presidential election<\/em><\/span> but, if one looks, there are other interesting\u00a0\u00e9v\u00e9nements \u00a0insolites<\/strong>3<\/a><\/sup>interesting\/surprising\/unusual occurrences<\/em><\/span> happening.<\/p>\n

Growing up<\/h3>\n

Just over a year ago<\/a>, I talked about how the Eiffel Tower was getting a make-over\/new paint job ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games. Now the iconic monument has had another update.<\/p>\n

Last Tuesday (le mardi 15 mars<\/strong>4<\/a><\/sup>Tuesday, March 15<\/em><\/span>), thanks to a new digital radio antenna<\/em> (antenne radio num\u00e9rique<\/strong>) the\u00a0tour<\/strong> is \u201cgrowing\u201d from her previous 324 meters height to 330 meters.<\/p>\n

This latest addition to the tower – lifted to the top by helicopter \u2026 a first for the tower – will expand the digital radio coverage in \u00cele-de-France.<\/p>\n

And as M. Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Martins reminds us in the video, this is completely in line with the history of the Tower whose very existence was saved in the early 1900 by the development of radio!<\/p>\n
