But how about <em>&#8220;la paix des braves&#8221;?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Way before the failed attempt of <em>le General de Gaulle<\/em> at quelling the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/after-indigenes-french-oh-la-la-about-hors-la-loi\/\">Algerian Revolution<\/a>, the term \u201c<em>Paix des Braves<\/em>\u201d (\u201cPeace of the Braves\u201d) was used to denote the \u201cGreat Peace of Montreal\u201d, between what was known back then as \u201cNew France\u201d and the native nations \u201c<em>am\u00e9rindiennes<\/em>\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/tag\/newfoundland\/\">Canada<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:
