We have seen recently that the word brave <\/em>is actually a native “Gaulois<\/em>“<\/a> term which made its way into today’s French. But how about “la paix des braves”?<\/em><\/p>\n

Way before the failed attempt of le General de Gaulle<\/em> at quelling the Algerian Revolution<\/a>, the term \u201cPaix des Braves<\/em>\u201d (\u201cPeace of the Braves\u201d) was used to denote the \u201cGreat Peace of Montreal\u201d, between what was known back then as \u201cNew France\u201d and the native nations \u201cam\u00e9rindiennes<\/em>\u201d in Canada<\/a>.<\/p>\n
