And like Jennie mentioned, she owed her <em>succ\u00e8s fou <\/em>(big success) to\u00a0&#8220;<em>un coup de gueule&#8221; <\/em>(in this case, a &#8220;<strong>diss song<\/strong>&#8220;)\u00a0directed against the\u00a0French rap group called <strong>TTC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>TTC &#8220;vs.&#8221; YELLE?<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Just like &#8220;YELLE&#8221;, the name &#8220;TTC&#8221; is also an acronym, composed of the initials of the names of the\u00a0group members. But as\u00a0we will see,\u00a0the &#8220;ressemblance&#8221; between the two groups\u00a0does not stop here.\u00a0First,\u00a0the word &#8220;TTC&#8221; in French\u00a0usually stands for\u00a0the\u00a0financial term &#8220;<em><strong>Toutes Taxes Comprises<\/strong><\/em>&#8220;, meaning &#8220;All Taxes Included.&#8221; Second, if you remember\u00a0from\u00a0the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/b-a-ba-de-l%e2%80%99argot-%e2%80%98b%e2%80%99-cont-the-abc-of-french-slang-%e2%80%98b%e2%80%99-cont\/\">B.A.-BA de l&#8217;Argot<\/a> <\/em>(the ABC of French Slang) that\u00a0the word <em><strong>&#8220;fric&#8221; <\/strong><\/em>(or &#8220;FRI\u20ac&#8221;, as in &#8220;CA$H&#8221;)\u00a0means &#8220;money&#8221;, you will not have too much of a hard time to translate the &#8220;(<strong><em>p<\/em><\/strong>)unny&#8221;\u00a0title of this post: &#8220;Yell\u00a0if you like money the TTC way&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>In fact, some\u00a0<em>producteurs de musique<\/em>\u00a0(music producers) and\u00a0<em>observateurs des m\u00e9dias<\/em>\u00a0(media watchdogs) have already &#8220;yelled&#8221; -like the title of this post\u00a0says- &#8220;<em><strong>\u00e0 tue-t\u00eate<\/strong>&#8220;<\/em>, an experssion meaning <em>&#8220;<\/em>at the top of\u00a0one&#8217;s lungs&#8221;, but literally meaning &#8220;killing a head&#8221;, which in turn\u00a0should allow you\u00a0to appreciate\u00a0<em>le jeu de mot<\/em>\u00a0(the pun) even further, since, like Jenny said, the songs in question are far from being remotely\u00a0classy or\u00a0&#8220;intellectually challenging&#8221;&#8230;\u00a0The\u00a0music producers were of course\u00a0&#8220;yelling&#8221;\u00a0out of\u00a0sheer happiness to have made so much &#8220;<em>fric&#8221;<\/em>, while\u00a0the\u00a0media watchdogs\u00a0were yelling more out of outrage (in French it&#8217;s called &#8220;<em>crier au scandale&#8221;<\/em>),\u00a0for the way that <em>fric<\/em> was made!<br \/>\n<em><br \/>\nComment \u00e7a marche?\u00a0<\/em>(how\u00a0does that work?)<\/p>\n<h2>Dialectique cart\u00e9sienne&#8230; en marketing!<\/h2>\n<p>The two music groups, TTC and YELLE,\u00a0seem to\u00a0stand as diametrical\u00a0opposites,\u00a0or\u00a0<em>tr\u00e8s commod\u00e9ment oppos\u00e9s <\/em>(very conveniently\u00a0opposed) to each other&#8230; and that is exactly the point, <em>bien entendu <\/em>(of course)!<\/p>\n<p>In fact, it&#8217;s really no big\u00a0surprise to find out that the\u00a0<em>maison de disque <\/em>(the music label)\u00a0which lately produced\u00a0TTC, after they\u00a0became more or less\u00a0&#8220;<em>tendance<\/em>&#8221; (&#8220;mainstream&#8221;, that is), was spun off from the very same\u00a0<em>conglom\u00e9rat musical<\/em>\u00a0which immediately\u00a0happenned to be the one producing &#8211;<em>devniez qui?<\/em> (guess who?)-\u00a0YELLE as well<em>&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It seems that the <em><strong>dialectique cart\u00e9sienne<\/strong> <\/em>(a reference to the renown French philosopher\u00a0<strong>Ren\u00e9 Descartes<\/strong>.
