{"id":93,"date":"2009-05-08T09:00:41","date_gmt":"2009-05-08T13:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/?p=90"},"modified":"2009-05-08T09:00:41","modified_gmt":"2009-05-08T13:00:41","slug":"french-cooking-quiche-lorraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/french-cooking-quiche-lorraine\/","title":{"rendered":"French Cooking &#8211; Quiche Lorraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of my favorite French dishes is quiche and when I was a student living in France, some of the French girls in my dorm used to make Quiche Lorraine for us to enjoy on the weekends. \u00a0Here is a recipe I got from one of them:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Ingredients:<br \/>\n<\/span>3 cups flour<br \/>\n10 \u00bd tblsp butter<br \/>\n6 eggs<br \/>\n2 \u00bc cups bacon<br \/>\n2 cups shredded gruyere cheese<br \/>\n10 tblsp of fresh liquid cream<br \/>\n4 \u00bc cups of milk<br \/>\nwater<br \/>\nsalt, pepper<\/p>\n<p>1. Preheat oven to 400\u00baF.<br \/>\n2. Prepare the shortcut pastry.\u00a0 Sift the flour into a bowl.\u00a0 Place the salt in the middle of the flour as well as 1 egg yolk and a \u00bd cup of water.\u00a0 Mix with a wooden spoon.\u00a0 Add the softened butter, then mix again.<br \/>\n3. Knead the dough for a few minutes, then make it into a ball and let stand for 20 minutes.<br \/>\n4. Next, dice the bacon and blanch it for a few minutes in a frying pan with a little bit of cold water.\u00a0 Drain and set aside.<br \/>\n5. Beat the 5 remaining eggs in a bowl along with the fresh cream and the milk, a pinch of salt and some pepper.<br \/>\n6. Roll out the dough and arrange it into a buttered pie pan.\u00a0 Then, sprinkle the bacon and cheese on the bottom and pour in the egg mixture.<br \/>\n7.
