{"id":933,"date":"2010-06-19T01:17:06","date_gmt":"2010-06-19T01:17:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/?p=933"},"modified":"2011-08-25T06:16:41","modified_gmt":"2011-08-25T10:16:41","slug":"un-debut-surprise-mondial-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/french\/un-debut-surprise-mondial-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"Un D\u00e9but-Surprise du Mondial 2010 !"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every <em>Coupe du Monde<\/em> has had its fair share of <em>surprises <\/em>and so-called &#8220;<em>coup de th\u00e9\u00e2tres&#8221;.<br \/>\n<\/em>But will this particular <em>Mondial <\/em>hold even more surprises for us\u00a0than ever before?<\/p>\n<p>Consider these games; almost no day has passed so far without a surprising result:<\/p>\n<p><strong>* <em>Sud Afrique\u00a0contre le Mexique<\/em> (South Africa vs. Mexico), last Friday: 1-1.<br \/>\n* <em>L&#8217;Angleterre\u00a0contre les\u00a0\u00c9tats-Unis<\/em> (England vs. USA), last Saturday: 1-1.<br \/>\n* <em>L&#8217;Italie\u00a0contre le Paraguay<\/em> (Italy vs. Paraguay), last Monday: 1-1.<br \/>\n* <em>Le Br\u00e9sil\u00a0contre La Cor\u00e9e du Nord<\/em> (Brazil vs. North Korea), last Tuesday: 2-1.<br \/>\n* <em>L&#8217;Espagne\u00a0contre la Suisse<\/em> (Spain vs. Switzerland),\u00a0last Wednesday: 0-1.<br \/>\n* <em>La France contre le Mexique<\/em> (France vs. Mexico), yesterday: 0-2.<br \/>\n* <em>L&#8217;Allemagne contre la Serbie<\/em> (Germany\u00a0vs. Serbia), today: 0-1.<br \/>\n*<em>L&#8217;Algerie contre l&#8217;Angleterre<\/em>\u00a0(Algeria vs. England), also today: 0-0.<br \/>\n<\/strong>\ufffd<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"FRANCE 24 Opinions - France - Mexique : Autopsie d&#039;une d\u00e9b\u00e2cle\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kdMvNBTPHs0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The first surprise, <em>nous l&#8217;avons d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9voqu\u00e9e <\/em>(we already evoked it), was the <em>match nul <\/em>(the draw) between <em>l&#8217;\u00e9quipe <strong>Sud Africaine<\/strong> <\/em>(the South African team) and <em>le <strong>Mexique<\/strong><\/em>. The South Africans had actually failed to qualify to <em>la Coupe Africaine des Nations <\/em>(The African Nations Cup) which was organized in Angloa a few months ago, and playing against them was therefore\u00a0expected to be somewhat of<em>\u00a0un petit picnic<\/em>, especially for a team of Mexico&#8217;s caliber.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of <em><strong>le Mexique<\/strong><\/em>, even if many had thought <em><strong>les Bleus<\/strong> <\/em>would still be <em>les favoris <\/em>against them, especially that the Mexican team had\u00a0<em>beaucoup de difficult\u00e9<\/em>\u00a0keeping up with the South Africans,\u00a0the <em>manque de pr\u00e9paration <\/em>(lack of preparation)<em>\u00a0<\/em>of <em>les Bleus<\/em>, which\u00a0cost them\u00a0countless golden opportunities to score, was perhaps <em>la raison principale <\/em>behind their\u00a0poor performance against a very determined\u00a0Mexican Squad.\u00a0Had <em>the Bleus <\/em>managed to score at least one\u00a0goal since their\u00a0first game, they would probably have played differently afterwords, since <em>le c\u00f4t\u00e9 psychologique <\/em>is <em>crucial <\/em>in such competitions<em>. Malheureusement\u00a0<\/em>(Unfortunately), that did not happen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">* * *<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wGq7QTq6lY8\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wGq7QTq6lY8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the\u00a0<em><strong>Groupe <\/strong>&#8216;<strong>F<\/strong>&#8216;<\/em>, our <em><strong>amis\u00a0Italiens<\/strong>, <\/em>who are -do you still need to be reminded?- <strong><em>les champions en titre <\/em><\/strong>(the title holders), most likely\u00a0felt at first\u00a0that <strong><em>le tirage au sort des groupes\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(the group draw) was extremely lucky\u00a0in their favor&#8230; Little did they expect that they would tie\u00a0against <strong>Paraguay.<\/strong>\u00a0In fact, they\u00a0had to work really hard in order to score the equalizer against them!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">* * *<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Cor\u00e9e du nord 2-1 Br\u00e9sil _ commentaires RMC\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8RqsXvYxn_I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><br \/>\n<em>R\u00e9silience cor\u00e9enne et r\u00e9alisme br\u00e9silien<\/em> (Korean resilience and Brazilian realism):<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yet another surprise of this <em>Coupe du Monde <\/em>was\u00a0<em>l&#8217;\u00e9quipe de <strong>la Cor\u00e9e du Nord<\/strong><\/em>, who played <em>avec beaucoup de d\u00e9termination <\/em>against\u00a0the magnificent team of <strong>Brazil<\/strong>.\u00a0Not only were the Koreans\u00a0able to\u00a0impose a logical draw\u00a0<strong>0-0<\/strong> during the entire first half, but even after receiving two goals, their characteristic resilience\u00a0was awarded by\u00a0a\u00a0very fine goal, and they\u00a0even threatened the <strong><em>Brasilieros<\/em><\/strong> with a draw&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>* * *<\/em><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=znRlsL4CICU\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=znRlsL4CICU<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Deux grosses surprises: La Suisse et la Serbie !<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Who can honestly say: <em>&#8220;<strong>Je l&#8217;ai vu venir<\/strong>&#8221; <\/em>(&#8220;I saw it coming&#8221;)? The European champions, <em><strong>l&#8217;Espagne<\/strong>,<\/em>\u00a0beaten by <em><strong>les Suisses<\/strong> !<br \/>\n<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=t3XYazu_ht8\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=t3XYazu_ht8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And who can honestly say that they saw the\u00a0<strong>Germans<\/strong> beaten by <strong>Serbia<\/strong>, after they managed to crush\u00a0<strong>Australia <\/strong>4-0, especially that Serbia had lost its first game and did not show much <strong><em>efficacit\u00e9<\/em><\/strong> (efficiency) before today&#8217;s game?<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=znRlsL4CICU\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=znRlsL4CICU<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><em>L&#8217;Angleterre <\/em>vs. <em>L&#8217;Alg\u00e9rie:<br \/>\n<\/em><\/span><em><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Les Anglais <\/em><\/strong>were already under a lot of pressure for conceding a draw against <strong><em>les \u00c9tats-Unis <\/em><\/strong>(the United States), when the freshly-introduced &#8220;<strong><em>Jabulani<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; ball &#8220;<strong><em>magiquement<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; eluded the English keeper&#8217;s <em><strong>poign\u00e9e<\/strong> (<\/em>grip) to go <strong><em>au fond des filets <\/em><\/strong>(deep into the net)!<\/p>\n<p>Things\u00a0didn&#8217;t go so well for England today either, since they expected an easy win against a team that was also under tremendous pressure to prove its <strong><em>m\u00e9rite <\/em><\/strong>for being in the <strong><em>Mondial<\/em><\/strong>, namely <strong>Algeria!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EMTcaux8iYM\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EMTcaux8iYM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not unlike the\u00a0<strong>US<\/strong> draw achieved against England, many people in Algeria (and in France too, as a matter of fact) will be celebrating tonight the draw against <strong><em>les Camarades\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>of<em> <\/em><strong>Wayne Rooney<\/strong>, which was the result of a great deal of determination: <strong><em>Le Foot, c&#8217;est surtout dans le mental ! <\/em><\/strong>(It&#8217;s mostly\u00a0in the mind!)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">* * *<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coming up soon<\/strong>: Keep your eyes on the following games, you may see some <strong><em>grosses surprises <\/em><\/strong>there as well:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8211; Le Japan<\/strong> contre <strong>la Hollande<\/strong>: Demain !<br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; L&#8217;Italie <\/strong>contre<\/em><em><strong> la Nouvelle Z\u00e9lande: <\/strong>Dimanche !<br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; Le Portugal <\/strong>contre<\/em><em><strong> la Cor\u00e9e du Nord: <\/strong>Lundi !<br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; Le Ghana <\/strong>contre <strong>l&#8217;Allemagne: <\/strong>Mercredi !<br \/>\n<\/em>and finally:<br \/>\n<em><strong>&#8211; La Slov\u00e9nie <\/strong>contre <strong>l&#8217;Angleterre: <\/strong>Mercredi aussi !<br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; Le Chili <\/strong>contre<strong> l&#8217;Espagne: <\/strong>Vendredi prochain\u00a0 <\/em>(Next <em>DMCV<\/em>)!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every Coupe du Monde has had its fair share of surprises and so-called &#8220;coup de th\u00e9\u00e2tres&#8221;.
