Telling the time in German: Numbers, numbers, numbers Posted by on Aug 29, 2012 in Language

How we cite the time usually depends on whether we read the time with digital watches or mechanical ones. In the following video I explain how you tell the time in German when you exclusively use numbers in your citation – which is usally the case when you read the time with digital watches.

About the Author: Sandra Rösner

Hello everybody! I studied English and American Studies, Communication Science, and Political Science at the University of Greifswald. Since I have been learning English as a second language myself for almost 20 years now I know how difficult it is to learn a language other than your native one. Thus, I am always willing to keep my explanations about German grammar comprehensible and short. Further, I am inclined to encourage you to speak German in every situation. Regards, Sandra

    Hi Sandra,
I appreciate your work, and was wondering if you could do a post on German names-what’s popular, what’s common, and thier meanings if they have any. A good friend of mine is from Germany (which is why I’m learning German), and her ‘odd’ name sparked my curiosity (I can’t even pronounce it properly, but she doesn’t mind).
    Thanks!

@Anonymous Can you read my mind? 😉 I’m actually working on that.
