The phrase was <strong>\u2018Klein, aber oho!\u2019.<\/strong> It took me a while to figure out how to translate this phrase. It starts<strong> \u2018Small, but&#8230;\u2019<\/strong> and then the mysterious word \u2018oho\u2019. On first glance, this looks like an abbreviation for something. But it is, in fact, a German <strong>exclamation of surprise or amazement<\/strong>! In this post we\u2019re going to look at German interjection\/exclamation sounds,\u00a0 complete with audio so you know exactly how they\u2019re pronounced. The phrase <strong>Klein, aber oho!<\/strong> Means <strong>Small, but mighty<\/strong> or Small, but oh my! The word <em>oho<\/em> is an expression of surprise.
