The most typical Rebsorten (grape varieties) that you will find there are Riesling, Dornfelder and Burgunder.<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Pfalz<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the second biggest producer in Germany with very hot and dry weather. They also produce a large amount of Riesling, along with Muller-Th\u00fcrgau, but they are most known for their Weinschorle (wine with sparkling water).<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>M<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>osel<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Located by the river\u00a0Mosel, the vineyards slope\u00a0steeply\u00a0downwards,\u00a0making them\u00a0the steepest vineyards in the world.\u00a0This\u00a0also\u00a0means\u00a0that the\u00a0grapes must be picked by hand.\u00a0Riesling is of course produced here, but also M\u00fcller-Thurgau\u00a0and Elbling. Red wine production (Sp\u00e4t Burgunder) has also increased\u00a0here over the\u00a0years. Mosel is located in northern Germany, which means\u00a0their wine\u00a0is\u00a0lighter and has a lower alcohol\u00a0percentage\u00a0than other wine regions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Sachsen<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although Sachsen is the smallest wine region in Germany, their yearly <strong><b>Weinfeste<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0(wine festivals) are not to be missed.
