In this post I would like to give you the opportunity to read some German. I wrote a letter to an imaginary friend. The reason for my letter is the current fall weather in Germany. I also provide an English translation of my letter so that everybody has the opportunity to check their reading\/understanding skills.<\/p>\n

Liebe Sarah \/ Lieber Daniel,<\/p>\n

Es ist Herbst in Deutschland. Die Bl\u00e4tter fallen von den B\u00e4umen und die w\u00e4rmende Sonne zeigt sich immer seltener. An manchen Tagen scheint sie sogar gar nicht mehr. Solche Tage mag ich nicht, weil die Welt dann so grau aussieht. Au\u00dferdem ist es an solchen Tagen drau\u00dfen besonders kalt. Dann frieren mir die H\u00e4nde und meine Nase wird ganz rot von der K\u00e4lte.<\/p>\n

Es gibt aber auch Tage an denen die Sonne den ganzen Tag scheint. Diese Tage mag ich besonders. Ich genie\u00dfe sie, indem ich im Park spazieren gehe oder mich einfach nur auf eine Bank setze und mein Gesicht in die Sonne halte. Ich wei\u00df, dass diese sch\u00f6nen sonnigen Tage bald vorbei sein werden. Aber ich bin nicht allzu traurig dar\u00fcber, denn ich wei\u00df auch, dass ein Winter mit viel Schnee ebenfalls sch\u00f6n sein kann. Wie ist das Wetter in deinem Land?<\/p>\n

Dear Sarah\/Daniel,<\/p>\n

It is fall in Germany. The leaves fall from the trees and the warming sun shows less often. On some days it (lit. she) even doesn\u2019t show at all anymore. I don\u2019t like such days because the world looks so gray. Moreover, it is very cold outside on such days. Then my hands feel cold and my nose turns red because of the coldness.<\/p>\n

But there are also days when the sun is shining all day. I like these days very much. I enjoy them by going for a walk in the park or by simply taking a seat on a bench and keeping my face to the sun. I know that these beautiful sunny days will soon be over. But I\u2019m not overly sad about that because I also know that a winter with lots of snow can be beautiful, too. How is the weather in your country?<\/p>\n
