On this Holocaust Remembrance Day, we are reminded of the duty to never forget the horrors at this concentration camp and the horrors committed against the more than 6 million people whose lives were lost in the Holocaust, as well as what led to these horrifying events.

Die Vergangenheit darf nie vergessen werden

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-13755" class="size-large wp-image-13755" alt="Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp Holocaust Remembrance Day" width="1024" height="391" / src="https://blogs.transparent.com/german/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/01/fadjar-djulizar-miYyZ_Tufk4-unsplash-1024x391.jpg" srcset="https://blogs.transparent.com/german/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/01/fadjar-djulizar-miYyZ_Tufk4-unsplash-1024x391.jpg 1024w, https://blogs.transparent.com/german/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/01/fadjar-djulizar-miYyZ_Tufk4-unsplash-350x134.jpg 350w, https://blogs.transparent.com/german/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/01/fadjar-djulizar-miYyZ_Tufk4-unsplash-768x293.jpg 768w, https://blogs.transparent.com/german/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/01/fadjar-djulizar-miYyZ_Tufk4-unsplash-1536x587.jpg 1536w, https://blogs.transparent.com/german/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/01/fadjar-djulizar-miYyZ_Tufk4-unsplash.jpg 1919w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" />
Photo by Fadjar Djulizar on Unsplash

The German Parliament, the Bundestag, observed the Remembrance today. Holocaust-Überlebende (Holocaust survivor) Inge Auerbacher spoke in the plenary.
