In Germany children at the age of three years can go to the \u201cKindergarten\u201d.<\/p>\n

After Kindergarten, at the age of six or seven years, they go to the \u201cGrundschule\u201d. This takes four years.<\/p>\n

Depending on school grades, the \u201cGrundschule\u201d is followed by \u201cHauptschule\u201d, \u201cRealschule\u201d or \u201cGymnasium\u201d.<\/p>\n

The \u201cGymnasium\u201d takes nine years. The last two years are called the \u201cAbitur\u201d which end up in \u00a0examinations. If you pass the \u201cAbitur\u201d, you have the possibility to visit universities.<\/p>\n

The \u201cRealschule\u201d lasts for six years. The graduation is called \u201cMittlere Reife\u201d. Here you have the possibility whether to make a professional education, to visit a vocational school or to make the \u201cAbitur\u201d by hindsight.<\/p>\n

The \u201cHauptschule\u201d takes only five years and most of the pupils start an apprenticeship afterwards. But you also have the possibility to visit further studying schools.<\/p>\n

Some facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– One lesson lasts for 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

– The scale of grades range from 1 to 6. The best grade is 1.<\/p>\n
