Today I want to play a little with vitamines. Not only Vegetarier (vegetarians)\u00a0 might be interested in vocabulary about fruits and vegetables. No matter if you go to a restaurant or have to buy some things to prepare a meal at home, it would be useful to know some of the following words.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-8340\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/german\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2011\/04\/fruit-2109043_960_720.jpg\" alt=\"fruits and vegetables in german\" width=\"711\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/german\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2011\/04\/fruit-2109043_960_720.jpg 960w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/german\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2011\/04\/fruit-2109043_960_720-350x263.jpg 350w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/german\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2011\/04\/fruit-2109043_960_720-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 711px) 100vw, 711px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The \u00fcblichsten (most common) fruits in Germany are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>der Apfel<\/strong> \u2013 apple<br \/>\n<strong>die Birne<\/strong> \u2013 pear<br \/>\n<strong>die Kirsche<\/strong> \u2013 cherry<br \/>\n<strong>die Banane<\/strong> \u2013 banana<br \/>\n<strong>die Ananas<\/strong> \u2013 pineapple<br \/>\n<strong>die Orange<\/strong> \u2013 orange<br \/>\n<strong>die Melone<\/strong> \u2013 melon<br \/>\n<strong>die Traube<\/strong> \u2013 grape<\/p>\n<p>Bananas, pineapples, oranges and melons are mostly imported becauso of the climate. They won\u00b4t grow well in Germany whereas apples, pears and cherries are cultivated in a great amount here.<\/p>\n<p>But there are also more exotic fruits like:<\/p>\n<p><strong>die Kiwi<\/strong> \u2013 kiwi<br \/>\n<strong>die Mango<\/strong> \u2013 mango<br \/>\n<strong>die Litschi<\/strong> \u2013 lichee<br \/>\n<strong>die Maracuja<\/strong> \u2013 passion fruit<br \/>\n<strong>die Feige<\/strong> \u2013 fig<br \/>\n<strong>die Grapefruit<\/strong> &#8211; grapefruit<\/p>\n<p>N\u00fcsse (nuts) are fruits as well in some way:<\/p>\n<p><strong>die Erdnuss<\/strong> \u2013 peanut<br \/>\n<strong>die Walnuss<\/strong> \u2013 walnut<br \/>\n<strong>die Kokosnuss<\/strong> \u2013 coconut<br \/>\n<strong>die Cashew-Kerne<\/strong> \u2013 cashew nut<\/p>\n<p>When I thing of vegetables, there are numerous. But let\u00b4s start with the most used:<\/p>\n<p><strong>die Kartoffel<\/strong> \u2013 potato<br \/>\n<strong>die Karotte<\/strong> &#8211; carrot<br \/>\n<strong>die Tomate<\/strong> \u2013 tomato<br \/>\n<strong>die Gurke<\/strong> \u2013 cucumber<br \/>\n<strong>der K\u00fcrbis<\/strong> \u2013 pumpkin<br \/>\n<strong>das Radieschen<\/strong> \u2013 radish<br \/>\n<strong>die Erbse<\/strong> &#8211; pea<br \/>\n<strong>die Linse<\/strong> \u2013 lentil<br \/>\n<strong>der Brokkoli<\/strong> \u2013 brokkoli<br \/>\n<strong>der Blumenkohl<\/strong> \u2013 cauliflower<br \/>\n<strong>die Bohne<\/strong> &#8211; bean<br \/>\n<strong>der Lauch<\/strong> &#8211; leek<\/p>\n<p>Spring and summer are coming back these days. So the first barbecues have already been celebrated. The following vegetables are perfect to barbecue:<\/p>\n<p><strong>die Paprika<\/strong> \u2013 sweet pepper<br \/>\n<strong>die Zucchini<\/strong> \u2013 green squash<br \/>\n<strong>die Aubergine<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0 eggplant<\/p>\n<p>To make meals more tasty, we use the following vegetables:<\/p>\n<p><strong>die Zwiebel<\/strong> \u2013 onion<br \/>\n<strong>der Knoblauch<\/strong> \u2013 garlic<br \/>\n<strong>die Petersilie<\/strong> \u2013 parsley<br \/>\n<strong>die Chilli<\/strong> \u2013 chilli<br \/>\n<strong>der Meerrettich<\/strong> \u2013 horseradish<br \/>\n<strong>der Sellerie<\/strong> \u2013 celery<\/p>\n<p>There are also various sorts of Salat (salad) and Pilze (mushrooms), but the names are quite special. So I guess you will succeed with these main words Salat and Pilze.<\/p>\n<p>Well for now you have to excuse me, because while writing this article, I really got hungry \ud83d\ude09 But please let me know some other fruits and vegetables that should have been mentioned here! Are there differences in the main fruits and vegetables?
