I have just come across a very nice poem and it made me almost cry because I find it is such a soothing piece of work. Every one of us will sooner or later find him- or herself in a difficult situation where we feel alone, and maybe this poem will let you know that there is always someone who will guard you. Footprints in the Sand<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Eines Nachts<\/td>\nOne night,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
hatte ich einen Traum:<\/td>\nI had a dream:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Ich ging am Meer entlang,<\/td>\nI strolled along the sea,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
mit meinem Herrn.<\/td>\nwith my Lord.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Vor dem dunklen Nachthimmel<\/td>\nUnder the dark night sky,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
erstrahlten,<\/td>\nappeared,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Streiflichtern gleich,<\/td>\nlike sidelights,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Bilder aus meinem Leben.<\/td>\npictures of my lifetime.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Und jedes mal<\/td>\nAnd every time,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
sah ich zwei Fu\u00dfspuren im Sand,<\/td>\nI saw two footprints in the sand,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
meine eigene<\/td>\nmy own ones<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
und die meines Herrn.<\/td>\nand the ones of my Lord.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Als das letzte Bild<\/td>\nWhen the last picture<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
an meinen Augen vor\u00fcbergezogen war,<\/td>\nhad stroke my eyes,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
blickte ich zur\u00fcck.<\/td>\nI looked back.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Ich erschrak,<\/td>\nI became frightened<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
als ich entdeckte,<\/td>\nwhen I realized<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
dass an vielen Stellen<\/td>\nthat on many points<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
meines Lebensweges<\/td>\nin my life,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
nur eine Spur zu sehen war.<\/td>\nonly one track was to be seen.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Und das waren gerade<\/td>\nAnd those were<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
die schwersten Zeiten<\/td>\nthe hardest times<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
meines Lebens.<\/td>\nof my life.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Besorgt fragte ich den Herrn:<\/td>\nBeing worried, I asked the Lord:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u201cHerr,<\/td>\n\u201cLord,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
als ich anfing,<\/td>\nwhen I began<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
dir nachzufolgen,<\/td>\nto follow you,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
da hast du mir versprochen,<\/td>\nyou promised me<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
auf allen Wegen bei mir zu sein.<\/td>\nto accompany me on all my ways.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Aber jetzt entdecke ich,<\/td>\nBut now I see,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
dass in den schwersten Zeiten<\/td>\nthat, at the hardest times,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
meines Lebens<\/td>\nof my life<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
nur eine Spur im Sand zu sehen ist.<\/td>\nthere are only single tracks in the sand.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Warum hast du mich allein gelassen,<\/td>\nWhy did you leave me alone,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
als ich dich am meisten brauchte?\u201d<\/td>\nwhen I needed you most?\u201c<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Da antwortete er:<\/td>\nAnd he responded:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u201cMein liebes Kind,<\/td>\n\u201cMy dear child,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
ich liebe dich<\/td>\nI love you<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
und werde dich nie allein lassen,<\/td>\nand I will never leave you alone,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
erst recht nicht<\/td>\neven less in times<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
in N\u00f6ten und Schwierigkeiten.<\/td>\n\u00a0of distress and trouble.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Dort wo du nur eine Spur gesehen hast,<\/td>\nWhere you only saw one track,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
