I have just come across a very nice poem and it made me almost cry because I find it is such a soothing piece of work. Every one of us will sooner or later find him- or herself in a difficult situation where we feel alone, and maybe this poem will let you know that there is always someone who will guard you. Footprints in the Sand<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
Eines Nachts<\/td>\n
One night,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
hatte ich einen Traum:<\/td>\n
I had a dream:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
Ich ging am Meer entlang,<\/td>\n
I strolled along the sea,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
mit meinem Herrn.<\/td>\n
with my Lord.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
Vor dem dunklen Nachthimmel<\/td>\n
Under the dark night sky,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
erstrahlten,<\/td>\n
appeared,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
Streiflichtern gleich,<\/td>\n
like sidelights,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
Bilder aus meinem Leben.<\/td>\n
pictures of my lifetime.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
Und jedes mal<\/td>\n
And every time,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
sah ich zwei Fu\u00dfspuren im Sand,<\/td>\n
I saw two footprints in the sand,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
meine eigene<\/td>\n
my own ones<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
und die meines Herrn.<\/td>\n
and the ones of my Lord.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
Als das letzte Bild<\/td>\n
When the last picture<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
an meinen Augen vor\u00fcbergezogen war,<\/td>\n
had stroke my eyes,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
blickte ich zur\u00fcck.<\/td>\n
I looked back.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
Ich erschrak,<\/td>\n
I became frightened<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
als ich entdeckte,<\/td>\n
when I realized<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
dass an vielen Stellen<\/td>\n
that on many points<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
meines Lebensweges<\/td>\n
in my life,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
nur eine Spur zu sehen war.<\/td>\n
only one track was to be seen.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
Und das waren gerade<\/td>\n
And those were<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
die schwersten Zeiten<\/td>\n
the hardest times<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
meines Lebens.<\/td>\n
of my life.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n

Besorgt fragte ich den Herrn:<\/td>\n
Being worried, I asked the Lord:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u201cHerr,<\/td>\n
\u201cLord,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
als ich anfing,<\/td>\n
when I began<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
dir nachzufolgen,<\/td>\n
to follow you,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
da hast du mir versprochen,<\/td>\n
you promised me<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
auf allen Wegen bei mir zu sein.<\/td>\n
to accompany me on all my ways.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
Aber jetzt entdecke ich,<\/td>\n
But now I see,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
dass in den schwersten Zeiten<\/td>\n
that, at the hardest times,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
meines Lebens<\/td>\n
of my life<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
nur eine Spur im Sand zu sehen ist.<\/td>\n
there are only single tracks in the sand.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Warum hast du mich allein gelassen,<\/td>\n
Why did you leave me alone,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

als ich dich am meisten brauchte?\u201d<\/td>\n
when I needed you most?\u201c<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Da antwortete er:<\/td>\n
And he responded:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u201cMein liebes Kind,<\/td>\n
\u201cMy dear child,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

ich liebe dich<\/td>\n
I love you<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\n
und werde dich nie allein lassen,<\/td>\n
and I will never leave you alone,<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

erst recht nicht<\/td>\n
even less in times<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

in N\u00f6ten und Schwierigkeiten.<\/td>\n

Dort wo du nur eine Spur gesehen hast,<\/td>\n
