But <em>machen<\/em> is also used in various compounds in German, which have specific English translations. In these specific translations the English verbs \u201cto do\u201d and\u00a0\u201cto make\u201d need not occur necessarily.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><strong>Pr\u00e4sens \u2013 Present tense<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>In German the <em>Pr\u00e4sens<\/em> is used to talk about present events and even about the future. But it is not as frequently used as its English equivalent, the simple past tense.
