This post is about commonly used Abk\u00fcrzungen<\/strong> (abbreviations) to use when you write in everyday life. You might have already seen some abbreviations listed below but never known what they meant, so here are the \u00dcbersetzungen<\/strong> (translations):<\/p>\n

Abbreviations to use in emails:<\/span><\/p>\n

LG<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 =\u00a0\u00a0 Liebe Gr\u00fcsse<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Best regards \u2013 the literal translation would be \u201clove greetings\u201d. You can use this at the end of an email to sign your name.<\/p>\n

zB.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 =\u00a0\u00a0 zum Beispiel:<\/strong><\/p>\n

For example, eg.<\/p>\n

bzw.\u00a0\u00a0 =\u00a0 \u00a0beziehungsweise:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Or\/or rather \u2013 the literal translation is \u201erespectively\u201c. You can use it in a sentence like this:<\/p>\n

Die Parkpl\u00e4tze sind f\u00fcr Kunden beziehungsweise G\u00e4ste reserviert.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The park spaces are for customers or guests reserved.<\/p>\n

Ich komme aus England bzw London.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I come from England or rather London.<\/p>\n

A lot of abbreviations are taken from English such as \u201clol, btw, asap\u201d so I won\u2019t mention those but here are some German versions!<\/p>\n
