On Sunday,\u00a0Laura and Max went ice skating on the Weihnachtsmarkt<\/a><\/em>. Then, Max suddenly has a surprise for Laura…<\/p>\n

Kapitel 12<\/em><\/strong>
\nNach etlichen Runden um den Tannenbaum ist es Zeit, findet Max.<\/em>
\n\u00bbLaura, bleibe bitte kurz stehen!\u00ab<\/em>
\nLaura h\u00e4lt an und schaut ihn an. <\/em>
\n\u00bbWas ist denn?\u00ab<\/em>
\nMax zieht den Rei\u00dfverschluss seiner Jacke ein St\u00fcck runter und holt die Rose aus seiner Jackentasche. Die Rose hat es \u00fcberraschenderweise heil \u00fcberstanden.<\/em>
\n\u00bbDie ist f\u00fcr dich.\u00ab<\/em>
\n\u00bbMax! Das ist so s\u00fc\u00df!\u00ab Laura strahlt. Sie umarmt ihn und gibt ihm einen Kuss auf die Wange.<\/em>
\n\u00bbWollen wir einen Gl\u00fchwein trinken?\u00ab fragt Max.<\/em>
\n\u00bbGern! Das Eislaufen hat mich durstig\u00a0gemacht!\u00ab<\/em>
\nNach einem gef\u00fchlt ewigen Marsch durch die riesige Menschenmasse finden Laura und Max einen Gl\u00fchweinstand mit einem freien Stehtisch.<\/em>
\nKurz danach w\u00e4rmen sie ihre kalten H\u00e4nde an den hei\u00dfen Gl\u00fchwein. Die Rose und zwei Paar Handschuhe liegen auf dem Stehtisch.<\/em>
\n\u00bbWir sollten \u00f6fter Eislaufen\u00ab, meint Laura.<\/em>
\n\u00bbIch bin ganz deiner Meinung\u00ab, nickt\u00a0Max.<\/em>
\nZusammen schl\u00fcrfen sie ihren Gl\u00fchwein.<\/em>
\n\u00bbDas tut gut! Herrlich, Gl\u00fchwein auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt…\u00ab seufzt Max erleichtert. Laura nickt.\u00a0<\/em>
\n\u00bbWie kommt es, dass du so gut laufen kannst?\u00ab fragt Max.<\/em>
\n\u00bbDanke! Viel \u00dcbung ist der Grund, denke ich. Ich laufe im Sommer immer Rollschuh, und im Winter ist Eislaufen eine gute Alternative.\u00ab<\/em>
\n\u00a0<\/em>
\nAls der Gl\u00fchwein ausgetrunken ist, verabschieden sie sich.<\/em>
\n\u00bbIch hatte echt einen sch\u00f6nen Abend, Max. Wollen wir das bald wieder machen?\u00ab<\/em>
\n\u00bbJa, es war echt wunderbar! Sehr gern, wie w\u00e4r\u2019s n\u00e4chste Woche?\u00ab<\/em>
\nLaura l\u00e4chelt. \u00bbKlar!\u00ab<\/em>
\nSie dreht sich um und geht. Nach ein paar Schritten dreht sie sich noch mal um und winkt, l\u00e4chelnd. Max winkt zur\u00fcck. Er kann es kaum glauben. Sie mag ihn! Er ist \u00fcbergl\u00fccklich!<\/em>
\nDa f\u00e4llt ihm pl\u00f6tzlich ein, er muss noch was erledigen\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

THE TRANSLATION<\/span><\/p>\n

Chapter 12<\/strong>
\nAfter several laps around the fir tree it is time, Max thinks.
\n\u201cLaura, please stop for a second!\u201d
\nLaura stops and looks at him.
\n\u201cWhat\u2019s up?\u201d
\nMax pulls down the zipper of his jacket a bit and takes the rose out of his jacket pocket. Surprisingly, the rose survived in one piece.
\n\u201cThis is for you.\u201d
\n\u201cMax! That is so sweet!\u201d Laura smiles. She hugs him and gives him a kiss on the cheek.
\n\u201cShall we drink a Gl\u00fchwein<\/em> <\/a>(pronounced \u201cgluvine\u201d, mulled wine)?\u201d Max asks.
\n\u201cGladly! The ice skating made me thirsty!\u201d
\nAfter a perceived eternal march through the enormous crowd of people, Laura and Max find a Gl\u00fchwein <\/em>stand with a free bar table.
\nShortly afterwards they warm their cold hands on the hot Gl\u00fchwein. <\/em>The rose and two pairs of gloves lie on the bar table.
\n\u201cWe should go ice skating more often,\u201d Laura says.
\n\u201cI couldn\u2019t agree more,\u201d Max nods.
\nTogether they sip their Gl\u00fchwein<\/em>.
\n\u201cThat feels good. Delicious, Gl\u00fchwein\u00a0<\/em>on the Christmas market…\u201d Max sighs relieved. Laura nods.
\n\u201cHow come that you can skate so well?\u201d Max asks.
\n\u201cThanks! A lot of practice is the reason, I think. I always roller-skate in the summer, and in the Winter, ice skating is a good alternative.\u201d<\/p>\n

When the Gl\u00fchwein <\/em>is finished, they say farewell.
\n\u201cI really had a nice evening, Max. Shall we do this again soon?\u201d
\n\u201cYes, it really was wonderful! I\u2019d love to, how about next week?\u201d
\nLaura smiles. \u201cSure!\u201d
\nShe turns around and leaves. After a few steps she turns around again and waves, smiling. Max waves back. He can barely believe it. She likes him! He is overjoyed!
\nSuddenly, it comes to his mind, he still has to do something\u2026<\/p>\n
