When he arrives at home, it will be 10 PM. A perfect time, actually, as it is then morning over there. With a smile Max goes home. The cold night suddenly feel much warmer.
When Max arrives at home, it indeed is 10 PM. He takes off his jacket and hangs it up. He puts his shoes under the clothes hanger.
He goes to his room and takes his phone out of his pocket. He enters the country code of New Zealand and then Oliver’s number. It’s good that he has 60 free minutes for New Zealand. Otherwise, this call would be outrageously expensive!
He hold the phone to his ear. I drank Glühwein with Laura today on the Christmas market.”
“Laura? Who is that? You have never told me about her.”
“That’s true! You don’t want to know what else happened to me today.”
“What?”
“This morning, I had an appointment at the eye doctor’s, and a peculiar man sat in the bus. He had a pink umbrella with him. And a dog. A Dalmatian.”
“That is a rare sight…”
“Yes, it certainly is! I talked to him, and he was on his way to a breast cancer event.”
“That makes sense. And how was it at the eye doctor’s?”
“I did a vision test for my driver’s license. And it turned out that my eyes are still good enough. Afterwards, I went by the driving school to hand in the attestation right away. And finally, I went to the supermarket to get the ingredients for a hedgehog slice. Hedgehog slice is Laura’s favorite dish. She liked it very much!
Then we set out for an after-dinner walk to the Christmas market, where went ice skating and drank Glühwein. It was a wonderful day!”
“That really sounds like a wonderful day! I have to admit, I am a little envious…”
“But you cannot complain yourself, Oliver!
