Welcome to the second part of my posts on calling the emergency services in Germany or Austria. In the first post, we looked at how to call the police, and the things you might say. We also looked at how to ask for help from the public. <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/german\/german-emergency-services-p1\/\" target=\"_blank\">That post is here.<\/a> This time, I\u2019ll cover the ambulance &amp; fire brigade with you.<\/p>\n<h3>Just to recap, here are the emergency services numbers for Germany and Austria:<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>In Germany:<br \/>\n<\/strong>110 \u2013 police<br \/>\n112 \u2013 ambulance\/fire brigade<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>In Austria:<br \/>\nCall 112 for general emergency. Or:<\/strong><br \/>\n133 \u2013 police<br \/>\n122 \u2013 fire brigade<br \/>\n144 \u2013 ambulance<\/h3>\n<h3>*The number 112 can be used in any EU country to call the emergency services. If in doubt, call 112.*<\/h3>\n<p>Now here are some useful words and phrases to use if you\u2019re in need of the fire brigade or ambulance service. Remember, if in doubt keep it simple and use the bare minimum (example: \u2018Rettungsdienst. Unfall. 123 Deutsch Strasse\u2019 \u2013 \u2018Ambulance services. I hope you won\u2019t ever have to use this vocabulary, but it\u2019s good to know it, just in case.
