\u201eDer Zahnarzt hat gesagt, ich habe eine schlimme Zahnfleischentz\u00fcndung<\/em>, und dass ich auch eine Plombe<\/em> brauche. Gottseidank brauche ich aber keine Zahnspange<\/em>, und auch keine Zahnextraktion<\/em>!\u201c<\/p>\n

The dentist said I have a bad inflammation of the gums<\/em>, and that I need a filling<\/em>. Thank God I don\u2019t need braces<\/em>, though, or a tooth extraction<\/em>!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

** You may have noticed that a lot of these words have the word ‘Zahn’ (tooth) at the beginning of them. This is to make the word specific to teeth, but you can always remove the word ‘Zahn’ and just use the second part of the word if you have already established you are talking about teeth. I have put the second part of the word in BOLD above. For example: die Zahnspange (braces)<\/em> can be shortened to ‘die Spange’<\/em> if you’ve established you’re talking about braces. If you haven’t established that yet, then stick to die Zahnspange. Be aware that the word ‘die Spange’ could refer to a number of things – die Haarspange (hair clip), for instance! It’s all about context. **<\/h5>\n

Toothbrush – die Zahnb\u00fcrste<\/p>\n

\u201eIch putze meine Z\u00e4hne mit Zahnpasta <\/em>und meine Zahnb\u00fcrste<\/em>, und sp\u00fchle danach mit Mundwasser.<\/em> Ich kaue Kaugummi<\/em> zwischendurch. Ich benutze aber nie die Zahnseide<\/em>. Dass muss ich tun.\u201c<\/p>\n

I clean my teeth with toothpaste<\/em> and my toothbrush,<\/em> and rinse afterwards with mouthwash<\/em>. I chew chewing gum<\/em> in between (during the day). I never use dental floss<\/em>, though. I need to do that.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
