Here&#8217;s some easy vocabulary about shapes in German.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s start with the basics:<\/p>\n<p>Shape(s)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<strong> \u00a0 \u00a0 die Form(en)<\/strong><br \/>\nCircle\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<strong>der Kreis<\/strong><br \/>\nSemi circle\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <strong>\u00a0 der Halbkreis<\/strong> (literal translation is &#8220;the half circle&#8221;, an easy one to remember!)<br \/>\nSquare\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <strong>\u00a0das Viereck OR das Quadrat<\/strong><br \/>\nTriangle\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<strong> das Dreieck<\/strong><br \/>\nRectangle\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <strong>\u00a0das Rechteck<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Four shapes that are exactly the same as in English (so you don&#8217;t have to learn anything new):<\/p>\n<p>Rhombus\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <strong>\u00a0der Rhombus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trapezoid\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<strong> \u00a0das Trapezoid<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oval\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<strong> \u00a0das Oval<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trapez\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<strong> \u00a0das Trapez<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Note that square and triangle always have &#8220;<strong>eck<\/strong>&#8221; at the end of the word. <strong>Eck<\/strong> means corner. I actually needed a reminder what some of the shapes were called in English once they had more than eight sides!
