In this post there are examples on the use of the genitive case (\u03b3\u03b5\u03bd\u03b9\u03ba\u03ae). The genitive case can be used to show:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Possession:<\/strong> \u0391\u03c5\u03c4\u03cc \u03b5\u03af\u03bd\u03b1\u03b9 \u03c4\u03bf \u03b2\u03b9\u03b2\u03bb\u03af\u03bf <u>\u03c4\u03bf\u03c5<\/u><u> \u039d\u03b9\u03ba\u03bf\u03c5<\/u>. \u00a0This is Nikos\u2019 book.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The subject of an action (subjective genitive):<\/strong> \u038c\u03bb\u03bf\u03b9 \u03bc\u03b9\u03bb\u03bf\u03cd\u03c3\u03b1\u03bd \u03b3\u03b9\u03b1 \u03c4\u03bf \u03c3\u03ba\u03bf\u03c1 <u>\u03c4\u03bf\u03c5<\/u><u> \u03a0\u03ad\u03c4\u03c1\u03bf\u03c5<\/u>. Everybody was talking about Petros\u2019 score.<em> ( Who scored? Petros. =&gt; \u00a0Petros is the subject.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The object of an action (objective genitive):<\/strong> \u00a0\u0397 \u03b1\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7 \u03c4\u03bf\u03c5 \u03a0\u03ad\u03c4\u03c1\u03bf\u03c5 \u03c4\u03b7\u03bd \u03ad\u03ba\u03b1\u03bd\u03b5 \u03bd\u03b1 \u03be\u03b5\u03c7\u03ac\u03c3\u03b5\u03b9 \u03c4\u03b1 \u03c0\u03ac\u03bd\u03c4\u03b1. \u00a0The love for Petros (Petros\u2019 love) made her forget everything. <em>(Whom does she love? Petros. =&gt; Petros is the object.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose, use:<\/strong> \u03a7\u03c1\u03b5\u03b9\u03b1\u03b6\u03cc\u03bc\u03b1\u03c3\u03c4\u03b5 \u03c0\u03bf\u03c4\u03ae\u03c1\u03b9\u03b1 <u>\u03c4\u03bf\u03c5<\/u><u> \u03ba\u03c1\u03b1\u03c3\u03b9\u03bf\u03cd<\/u> \u03ba\u03b1\u03b9 <u>\u03c4\u03bf\u03c5<\/u><u> \u03bd\u03b5\u03c1\u03bf\u03cd<\/u>.
