This post is an introduction to the Imperative Mood with examples on its use.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. \u00a0\u03a3\u03c5\u03bd\u03b5\u03c7\u03ae\u03c2<em> (Continuous)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u03a0\u03c1\u03cc\u03c3\u03b5\u03c7\u03b5<\/span> \u03c4\u03bf\u03bd \u03b5\u03b1\u03c5\u03c4\u03cc \u03c3\u03bf\u03c5. \/ <em>Take care of yourself.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u039c\u03b7 \u03b4\u03af\u03bd\u03b5\u03b9\u03c2<\/span> \u03c4\u03bf \u03c4\u03b7\u03bb\u03ad\u03c6\u03c9\u03bd\u03cc \u03c3\u03bf\u03c5 \u03c3\u03b5 \u03b1\u03b3\u03bd\u03ce\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03c5\u03c2. \/ <em>Don&#8217;t give your phone number to strangers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The continuous Imperative of the verbs which end in &#8211;<strong>\u03c9<\/strong> (first conjugation) is formed by the stem of the Present (\u0395\u03bd\u03b5\u03c3\u03c4\u03ce\u03c4\u03b1\u03c2) + the endings &#8211;<strong>\u03b5<\/strong> \/ &#8211;<strong>\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. \u0391\u03c0\u03bb\u03ae<em> (Simple)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0394\u03ce\u03c3\u03b5<\/span> \u03bc\u03bf\u03c5 \u03ad\u03bd\u03b1 \u03c0\u03bf\u03c4\u03ae\u03c1\u03b9 \u03bd\u03b5\u03c1\u03cc, \u03c3\u03b5 \u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u03b1\u03ba\u03b1\u03bb\u03ce. \/ Give me a glass of water, please.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u039c\u03b7\u03bd \u03b1\u03b3\u03bf\u03c1\u03ac\u03c3\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5<\/span> \u03b1\u03c5\u03c4\u03cc \u03c4\u03bf \u03c0\u03bf\u03c5\u03ba\u03ac\u03bc\u03b9\u03c3\u03bf. \/ Don&#8217;t buy that shirt.<\/p>\n<p>It is formed by the stem of the Past Simple (\u0391\u03cc\u03c1\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2) + the endings -\u03b5 \/ -\u03c4\u03b5.<\/p>\n<p>Some verbs form the plural in &#8211;<strong>\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5<\/strong>: \u03ba\u03b1\u03c4\u03b1\u03bb\u03ac\u03b2\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5 (understand), \u03c0\u03b5\u03c1\u03b9\u03bc\u03ad\u03bd\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5 (wait) etc.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the negative form we use the Subjunctive Mood: <strong>(\u03bd\u03b1) \u03bc\u03b7\u03bd + verb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Imperative and personal pronouns<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the affirmative form the pronouns are placed <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">after<\/span> the verb.<\/p>\n<p>Examples:<\/p>\n<p>\u0391\u03b3\u03cc\u03c1\u03b1\u03c3\u03b5 \u03c4\u03b1 \u03b3\u03bb\u03c5\u03ba\u03ac!=&gt; \u0391\u03b3\u03cc\u03c1\u03b1\u03c3\u03ad <strong>\u03c4\u03b1<\/strong>! \/ Buy the sweets. Buy them.<\/p>\n<p>\u03a6\u03ad\u03c1\u03b5 \u03c4\u03bf \u03b1\u03c5\u03c4\u03bf\u03ba\u03af\u03bd\u03b7\u03c4\u03bf! =&gt; \u03a6\u03ad\u03c1&#8217;<strong>\u03c4\u03bf<\/strong>! \/ Bring the car.
