People who lived in apartment complexes use to grow plants in pots in the balcony. In the villages, every \u00a0house had its own vegetable garden\u00a0where people grew greens and vegetables. There was also place for plants, such as \u03b3\u03b5\u03c1\u03ac\u03bd\u03b9 (geranium), \u03b2\u03b1\u03c3\u03b9\u03bb\u03b9\u03ba\u03cc\u03c2 (basil), \u03bc\u03b1\u03bd\u03c4\u03b6\u03bf\u03c5\u03c1\u03ac\u03bd\u03b1 (marjoram), \u03c4\u03c1\u03b9\u03b1\u03bd\u03c4\u03b1\u03c6\u03c5\u03bb\u03bb\u03b9\u03ad\u03c2 (roses), \u03b3\u03b1\u03c1\u03c5\u03c6\u03b1\u03bb\u03bb\u03b9\u03ad\u03c2 (carnations). In villages, the situation is the same, except that people use more pots.
