It is time for a grammar post related to the passive voice, as it gives students a hard time. However, these verbs are passive only in their morphology. This means that a verb ending in -\u03bc\u03b1\u03b9 can be an active or a linking verb. Note that an active verb does not necessarily denote movement, for example \u03ba\u03bf\u03b9\u03bc\u03ac\u03bc\u03b1\u03b9 which means <em>to sleep<\/em>. There are verbs that have two voices: <strong>\u03c0\u03bb\u03ad\u03bd\u03c9<\/strong> (to wash), <strong>\u03c0\u03bb\u03ad\u03bd\u03bf\u03bc\u03b1\u03b9<\/strong> (to be washed). The verbs listed in this post do not have an active form in <strong>-\u03c9<\/strong>, for example, we say <strong>\u03ad\u03c1\u03c7\u03bf\u03bc\u03b1\u03b9<\/strong> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">not \u03ad\u03c1\u03c7\u03c9<\/span>, <strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u03c3\u03ba\u03ad\u03c6\u03c4\u03bf\u03bc\u03b1\u03b9<\/span><\/strong> and<span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> not \u03c3\u03ba\u03ad\u03c6\u03c4\u03c9<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>\u03ad\u03c1\u03c7\u03bf\u03bc\u03b1\u03b9:<\/strong> to come. <strong>\u0391\u03cc\u03c1\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2: \u03ae\u03c1\u03b8\u03b1<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u03a4\u03bf \u03bb\u03b5\u03c9\u03c6\u03bf\u03c1\u03b5\u03af\u03bf \u03ad\u03c1\u03c7\u03b5\u03c4\u03b1\u03b9.
