They are sung by children or men on Christmas Eve, on New Year\u2019s Eve and on the Epiphany (\u0398\u03b5\u03bf\u03c6\u03ac\u03bd\u03b5\u03b9\u03b1). They are addressed to the owners of the house. When the song is over, the carolers <em>(\u03ba\u03b1\u03bb\u03b1\u03bd\u03c4\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03ad\u03c2)<\/em> get money.<\/p>\n<p>Every region in Greece has one or more different versions of \u03ba\u03ac\u03bb\u03b1\u03bd\u03c4\u03b1 and its own traditional instruments. However, in the big cities, children use only a triangle. <em>\u03a4\u03b1 \u03ba\u03ac\u03bb\u03b1\u03bd\u03c4\u03b1<\/em> are also sung by choirs or marching bands to the Prime Minister, to the President of the Republic and to other important people.<\/p>\n<p>In this post, we will talk about \u03c4\u03b1 \u03a0\u03c1\u03c9\u03c4\u03bf\u03c7\u03c1\u03bf\u03bd\u03b9\u03ac\u03c4\u03b9\u03ba\u03b1 \u03ba\u03ac\u03bb\u03b1\u03bd\u03c4\u03b1 \u03c4\u03b7\u03c2 \u039a\u03b5\u03c6\u03b1\u03bb\u03bf\u03bd\u03b9\u03ac\u03c2: New Year\u2019s carols from the island of Cephalonia.
