No more <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/hebrew\/israeli-snack-have-you-tried-bamba-yet\/\">Bamba<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/hebrew\/an-israeli-chocolate-cow-chocolate-\u05e9\u05c1\u05d5\u05b9\u05e7\u05d5\u05b9\u05dc\u05b7\u05d3-\u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05e8\u05b8\u05d4\/\">Cow Chocolate<\/a> for me. From now on \u2013 only fruits to maintain my sugar level.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fig <\/strong><strong>\u05ea\u05bc\u05b0\u05d0\u05b5\u05e0\u05b8\u05d4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On a diet, figs are definitely a better option than a chocolate bar or a peanut butter snack.<\/p>\n<p>Fig (feminine) = \u05ea\u05bc\u05b0\u05d0\u05b5\u05e0\u05b8\u05d4 (te-e-na)<\/p>\n<p>Figs = \u05ea\u05bc\u05b0\u05d0\u05b5\u05e0\u05c5\u05d9\u05dd (te-e-nim)<\/p>\n<p>The Hebrew word for fig follows the basic rule of the Hebrew grammatical gender and ends with \u05d4 as most feminine nouns do. Correspondingly, its demonstrative pronoun will be feminine as well \u2013 \u05d6\u05d5\u05ba (zo) or \u05d6\u05ba\u05d0\u05ea (zot). Hebrew has two feminine demonstrative pronouns: \u05d6\u05ba\u05d0\u05ea from the bible, and \u05d6\u05d5\u05ba from a later period. There isn\u2019t a difference between them, they both mean and function the same, and you can use them alternately. For example:<\/p>\n<p>\u05e9\u05c2\u05c5\u05d9\u05dd \u05dc\u05b5\u05d1 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05d7\u05b5\u05dc\u05b6\u05e7 \u05de\u05b5\u05d4\u05b7\u05ea\u05bc\u05b0\u05d0\u05b5\u05e0\u05c5\u05d9\u05dd \u05dc\u05ba\u05d0 \u05d8\u05b0\u05e8\u05c5\u05d9\u05bc\u05d5\u05ba\u05ea. \u05d6\u05d5\u05ba \u05dc\u05b0\u05de\u05b8\u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05dc, \u05e8\u05b0\u05e7\u05d5\u05bc\u05d1\u05b8\u05d4.<\/p>\n<p>Note that some figs aren\u2019t fresh. It makes me feel thin and healthy. Although it doesn\u2019t really make me eat an apple every day, I do enjoy apples frequently. They are sold year-round in Israel, and they are always fresh and juicy.<\/p>\n<p>Apple (masculine) = \u05ea\u05bc\u05b7\u05e4\u05bc\u05d5\u05bc\u05d7\u05b7 (ta-pu-ah)<\/p>\n<p>Apples = \u05ea\u05bc\u05b7\u05e4\u05bc\u05d5\u05bc\u05d7\u05c5\u05d9\u05dd (ta-pu-him)<\/p>\n<p>Unlike fig, the Hebrew word for apple ends with a consonant, as most masculine nouns do. Therefore, its demonstrative pronoun will be masculine as well \u2013 \u05d6\u05b6\u05d4 (ze).<\/p>\n<p>\u05d4\u05b7\u05ea\u05bc\u05b7\u05e4\u05bc\u05d5\u05bc\u05d7\u05b7 \u05d4\u05b7\u05d6\u05b6\u05bc\u05d4 \u05d4\u05d5\u05bc\u05d0 \u05de\u05c5\u05d6\u05bc\u05b7\u05df &#8220;\u05d2\u05e8\u05e0\u05d9\u05e1\u05de\u05d9\u05ea\u05f4, \u05d5\u05d4\u05ea\u05e4\u05d5\u05d7 \u05d4\u05b7\u05d6\u05b6\u05bc\u05d4 \u05de\u05c5\u05d6\u05bc\u05b7\u05df &#8220;\u05d2\u05d0\u05dc\u05d4\u05f4.<\/p>\n<p>This is a Granny Smith apple, and this one is Gala apple.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summer fruits <\/strong><strong>\u05e4\u05b0\u05bc\u05e8\u05d5\u05ba\u05ea \u05e7\u05b7\u05d9\u05c5\u05e5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Watermelon, grapes, and melon, on the other hand, will be in the market only during the summer. They are very refreshing desserts in the Israeli humid summer, because they contain lots of water. Especially watermelon that contains about 90 percent water. The sugar content in grapes is higher than in watermelon, and frozen grapes from the freezer are nice snack during hot day.<\/p>\n<p>Watermelon (masculine) = \u05d0\u05b2\u05d1\u05b7\u05d8\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05d7\u05b7 (a-va-ti-ach)<\/p>\n<p>Watermelons = \u05d0\u05b2\u05d1\u05b7\u05d8\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05d7\u05c5\u05d9\u05dd<\/p>\n<p>Melon (masculine) = \u05de\u05b6\u05dc\u05d5\u05b9\u05df (me-lon)<\/p>\n<p>Melons = \u05de\u05b6\u05dc\u05d5\u05b9\u05e0\u05c5\u05d9\u05dd<\/p>\n<p>Grape (masculine) = \u05e2\u05b5\u05e0\u05b8\u05d1<\/p>\n<p>Grapes = \u00a0\u05e2\u05b2\u05e0\u05b8\u05d1\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd(a-na-vim)<\/p>\n<p>There are several Hebrew demonstrative pronouns for plural nouns:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u05d4\u05b5\u05dd (em) means \u201cthey\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc\u05bc\u05b6\u05d4 (e-le) and \u05d0\u05b5\u05dc\u05bc\u05d5\u05bc (e-lu) means \u201cthese\u201d. The first is from the bible period, the second is from a later period. Other than that there is no difference between them.<\/li>\n<li>\u05d4\u05b7\u05d4\u05b5\u05dd (a-em) means \u201cthose\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>\u05d4\u05b7\u05dc\u05bc\u05b8\u05dc\u05d5\u05bc is a literary pronoun means \u201cthese\u201d or \u201cthose\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n<p>\u05d0\u05b5\u05d9\u05e4\u05b9\u05d4 \u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b2\u05d1\u05b7\u05d8\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05d7\u05c5\u05d9\u05dd \u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05e7\u05bc\u05b8\u05e0\u05c5\u05d9\u05ea\u05b8? \u05d4\u05b5\u05dd \u05e2\u05b2\u05d3\u05b7\u05d9\u05b4\u05df \u05d1\u05b8\u05bc\u05d0\u05d5\u05ba\u05d8\u05d5\u05ba.<\/p>\n<p>Where are the watermelons you bought?
