The law also asserts that places where food is served (like restaurants, dining rooms, coffee shops, etc.) will serve every customer a free jug (\u05e7\u05b7\u05e0\u05b0\u05e7\u05b7\u05df) of cold drinking water (\u05de\u05b5\u05d9 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05ea\u05b4\u05d9\u05d9\u05b8\u05d4). It is usually tap water (\u05de\u05b5\u05d9 \u05d1\u05bc\u05b6\u05e8\u05b6\u05d6), but there is no problem \u2013 tap water is allowed for drinking in Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, many places take advantage of the fact that most of the Israeli public isn\u2019t familiar with the law. Especially food places that hope their thirsty customers will order drinks (\u05de\u05b7\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05e7\u05b8\u05d0\u05d5\u05ba\u05ea), adding to their bill. Some places don\u2019t even serve the free water jug, unless the customer clearly asks for it (which is a violation of the law). Other places tarry with the free water. They set the table, take the order, serve the dishes and only then bring the water, hoping that, in the meantime, the customers will crave some mineral water or soft drinks.<\/p>\n<p>Now that you know \u2013 next time you are visiting Israel don\u2019t let greedy businesses violate the law. In English the name of the fruit precedes the word <em>juice<\/em>. In Hebrew it\u2019s the opposite. The word \u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05e5 precedes the name of the fruit. Another difference is that the name of the fruit in the Hebrew template appears in its plural form. For example:<\/p>\n<p>Orange juice = \u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05e5 \u05ea\u05bc\u05b7\u05e4\u05bc\u05d5\u05bc\u05d6\u05c5\u05d9\u05dd<\/p>\n<p>Grape juice = \u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05e5 \u05e2\u05b2\u05e0\u05b8\u05d1\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd<\/p>\n<p>Apple juice = \u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05e5 \u05ea\u05bc\u05b7\u05e4\u05bc\u05d5\u05bc\u05d7\u05c5\u05d9\u05dd<\/p>\n<p>Grapefruit juice = \u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05e5 \u05d0\u05b6\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05db\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9\u05dc\u05b0\u05d9\u05d5\u05ba\u05ea<\/p>\n<p>Tangerine juice = \u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05e5 \u05e7\u05b0\u05dc\u05b6\u05de\u05b6\u05e0\u05b0\u05d8\u05b4\u05d9\u05e0\u05d5\u05ba\u05ea<\/p>\n<p>Every restaurant has a drinks menu (\u05ea\u05bc\u05b7\u05e4\u05b0\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05d8 \u05de\u05b7\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05e7\u05b8\u05d0\u05d5\u05ba\u05ea), but it is usually pretty concise. If you wish to enjoy a fresh (\u05d8\u05b8\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9) juice, and not a preserved or pasteurized juice you can buy in the supermarket, ask the waiter: \u05d4\u05b7\u05d0\u05b4\u05dd \u05d4\u05b7\u05de\u05b4\u05bc\u05d9\u05e5 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05dc\u05b8\u05bc\u05db\u05b6\u05dd \u05e1\u05b8\u05d7\u05d5\u05bc\u05d8 \u05d1\u05bc\u05b7\u05de\u05b8\u05e7\u05d5\u05ba\u05dd? (literally means <em>does your juice squeezed in this place?<\/em>).
