They come in denominations of 1\/2, 1, 5, 10 shekel coins and 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 shekel <span dir=\"rtl\" style=\"font-size: 21px; font-family: times new roman;\" title=\"shtah-ROHT - bills\">\u05e9\u05b0\u05c1\u05d8\u05b8\u05e8\u05d5\u05b9\u05ea<\/span>.<\/p>\n<h3>When Does The Bank Open?<\/h3>\n<p align=\"justify\">Recently there&#8217;s been some important holidays celebrated in Israel., so to be sure the <span dir=\"rtl\" style=\"font-size: 21px; font-family: times new roman;\" title=\"bahnk\">\u05d1\u05b7\u05bc\u05e0\u05b0\u05e7<\/span> is open, you ask: <span dir=\"rtl\" style=\"font-size: 21px; font-family: times new roman;\" title=\"mah-TIE poat-KHEEM et hah-bank - When does the bank open?\">\u05de\u05b8\u05ea\u05b7\u05d9 \u05e4\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9\u05ea\u05d7\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea \u05d4\u05d1\u05b7\u05bc\u05e0\u05b0\u05e7?<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Generally the banks are open Sunday &#8211; Tuesday and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. On Wednesday and Friday and holy day evenings, they&#8217;re open from 8:30 a.m. to noon.<\/p>\n<h3>Changing dollars to shekels<\/h3>\n<p align=\"justify\">I need to change some <span dir=\"rtl\" style=\"font-size: 21px; font-family: times new roman;\" title=\"doh-lahr-EEM\">\u05d3\u05d5\u05b9\u05dc\u05b8\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd<\/span> to <span dir=\"rtl\" style=\"font-size: 21px; font-family: times new roman;\" title=\"sheh-KEHL khah-DAHSH - New Israeli Shekel\">\u05e9\u05b6\u05c1\u05e7\u05b6\u05dc \u05d7\u05b8\u05d3\u05b8\u05e9\u05c1<\/span> (abbreviated as NIS &#8211; the symbol is \u20aa). There&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unionbank.co.il\/1035-en\/UnionBank.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Union Bank<\/a> on Ahuzat Bayit 8 to do the exchange. Most banks have a board or poster showing the current <span dir=\"rtl\" style=\"font-size: 21px; font-family: times new roman;\" title=\"shah-'AR hah-lee-FEEN\">\u05e9\u05b7\u05c1\u05e2\u05b7\u05e8 \u05d7\u05b2\u05dc\u05b4\u05d9\u05e4\u05b4\u05d9\u05df<\/span>.
