Did you read a newspaper in Hindi? Can you name a few newspapers that you have seen in Hindi?

A newspaper is a mirror of events that are happening in any society, it has been considered an excellent medium not only a aid to understand about a society but also its language. Today, I will give you some information regarding Hindi newspapers that are in large circulation in India and also available on web. So, if you are learning Hindi, I would definitely suggest reading them.

Some of the popular newspapers in Hindi are:

1. दैनिक जागरण (Dainik Jagran,  literally means, Daily Awaking)

It was first published in 1942 from city of Jhansi, from the state of Madhya Pradesh which is located in Central India. It is the largest read Hindi daily in India. In circulation, it is second largest. There are 36 edition of Dainik Jagran which are published around many cities across India. It is available on web at : http://www.jagran.com/

2. अमर उजाला (Amar Ujala – literally means, Always Light)

It was first published on 18th April 1948 from city of Agra in Uttar Pardesh which is located in North India. It is the forth largest Hindi daily and has large readers in many Indian states such as Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and New Delhi. 3. दैनिक भास्कर (Dainik Bhaskar,  literally means, Daily Sun)

It was first published in 1958 from city of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. It has 9 edition which are published from the city of Delhi, Bhopal, Indore, Raipur, Panipat, Jalandar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh and Jaipur. It is available on web at : http://www.bhaskar.com/

4. नवभारत टाइम्स (Navbharat Times,  literally means, New India Times)

It was first published in 1947 from city of Mumbai in Maharashtra which is located in West India. It is the largest read Hindi daily in Mumbai and Delhi, which are two of the biggest metropolitan cities in India. It provides different supplements for the different cities where it is published. It is available on web at : http://www.navbharattimes.com/
