Each of tenses are further divided into their sub-types. For better understanding, the examples are provided in Hindi and their translations are given in English.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u092d\u0942\u0924\u0915\u093e\u0932 (Past Tense)<\/strong><br \/>\nIn Hindi, past tenses are of 6 types:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. \u0938\u093e\u092e\u093e\u0928\u094d\u092f \u092d\u0942\u0924 (Past Indefinite Tense)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe past indefinite tense describe completion of an action that took place in the past.<br \/>\nExample: \u092e\u0948\u0902\u0928\u0947 \u092e\u093f\u0920\u093e\u0908 \u0916\u093e\u0908\u0964 (I ate sweets.)<br \/>\n<strong>2. \u0906\u0938\u0928\u094d\u0928 \u092d\u0942\u0924 (Recent Past Tense)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe recent Past tense describe completion of an action that took place over a period of time in the past.<br \/>\nExample: \u092e\u0948\u0902\u0928\u0947 \u092e\u093f\u0920\u093e\u0908 \u0916\u093e\u0908 \u0939\u0948\u0964 (I have eaten sweets.)<br \/>\n<strong>3. \u092a\u0942\u0930\u094d\u0923 \u092d\u0942\u0924 (Past Perfect Tense)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe past perfect tense is used to indicate that an action occurred before another action in the past.<br \/>\nExample: \u092e\u0948\u0902\u0928\u0947 \u092e\u093f\u0920\u093e\u0908 \u0916\u093e\u0908 \u0925\u0940\u0964 (I had eaten sweets.)<br \/>\n<strong>4. \u0905\u092a\u0942\u0930\u094d\u0923 \u092d\u0942\u0924 (Past Continuous Tense)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe past continuous tense is used to indicate an ongoing action occurring in the past.<br \/>\nExample: \u092e\u0948\u0902 \u092e\u093f\u0920\u093e\u0908 \u0916\u093e \u0930\u0939\u093e \u0925\u093e\u0964 (I had been eating sweet.)<br \/>\n<strong>5. \u0938\u0902\u0926\u093f\u0917\u094d\u0927 \u092d\u0942\u0924 (Doubtful Past Tense or Presumptive Perfect)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe doubtful past tense or presumptive perfect is used to indicate an action which might have or might have not occurred in the past.<br \/>\nExample: \u092e\u0948\u0902\u0928\u0947 \u092e\u093f\u0920\u093e\u0908 \u0916\u093e\u0908 \u0939\u094b\u0917\u0940\u0964 (I might have eaten sweets.)<br \/>\n<strong>6. \u0939\u0947\u0924\u0941\u0939\u0947\u0924\u0941\u092e\u0926 \u092d\u0942\u0924 (Conditional Past Tense)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe conditional past tense is used to indicate occurrence of an action if certain condition would have met in the past.<br \/>\nExample: \u0905\u0917\u0930 \u092e\u0947\u0902 \u092d\u0942\u0915\u093e \u0939\u094b\u0924\u093e \u0924\u094b \u092e\u0948\u0902\u0928\u0947 \u092e\u093f\u0920\u093e\u0908 \u0916\u093e\u0908 \u0939\u094b\u0924\u0940\u0964 (If I had hunger I would have eaten sweets)<br \/>\n<strong>7. \u0905\u092d\u094d\u092f\u0938\u094d\u0924 \u092d\u0942\u0924 (Habitual Past Tense)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe habitual past tense is used to indicate regular occurrence of an certain action in the past.<br \/>\nExample: \u092e\u0948\u0902 \u092e\u093f\u0920\u093e\u0908 \u0916\u093e\u092f\u093e \u0915\u0930\u0924\u093e \u0925\u093e\u0964 or \u092e\u0948\u0902 \u092e\u093f\u0920\u093e\u0908 \u0916\u093c\u093e\u0924\u093e \u0925\u093e\u0964 (I used to eat sweets.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0935\u0930\u094d\u0924\u092e\u093e\u0928\u0915\u093e\u0932 (Present Tense)<\/strong><br \/>\nIn Hindi, present tenses are of 3
