Compound (\u0938\u092e\u093e\u0938 – Samaas) in Hindi comes into existence when two or more than two mutual words are joined in Hindi.<\/p>\n

Today, I will cover the compound in Hindi where the second term or clause is important. These compound are called \u0924\u0924\u094d\u092a\u0941\u0930\u0941\u0937 \u0938\u092e\u093e\u0938 (Tatpurush Samaas). This compound is further divided into six types as follow,<\/p>\n

1. These compounds are made by omitting the verb between two words. These compound could be broken by “\u0915\u094b” (ko – to) like in following examples<\/p>\n

i) \u091c\u0947\u092c\u0915\u0924\u0930\u093e (Jebkatra) = \u091c\u0947\u092c \u0915\u094b \u0915\u0924\u0930\u0928\u0947 \u0935\u093e\u0932\u093e (who pick pockets)
\nii) \u0938\u094d\u0935\u0930\u094d\u0917\u0917\u0924 (Svarggat) = \u0938\u094d\u0935\u0930\u094d\u0917 \u0915\u094b \u0917\u0924 (who goes to heaven)
\niii) \u092f\u0936\u092a\u094d\u0930\u093e\u092a\u094d\u0924 (Yashprapt) = \u092f\u0936 \u0915\u094b \u092a\u094d\u0930\u093e\u092a\u094d\u0924 (Who get the fame)<\/p>\n

2. These compounds are made by omitting the instrumental case. These compound could be broken by “\u0938\u0947” (Se – from) like in following examples,<\/p>\n

i) \u092e\u0928\u091a\u093e\u0939\u093e (Manchahaa) = \u092e\u0928 \u0938\u0947 \u091a\u093e\u0939\u093e (liked from mind)
\nii) \u0939\u0938\u094d\u0924\u0932\u093f\u0916\u093f\u0924 (Hastlikhit) = \u0939\u0938\u094d\u0924 \u0938\u0947 \u0932\u093f\u0916\u093f\u0924 (written from hand)
\niii) \u0905\u0915\u093e\u0932\u092a\u0940\u0921\u093c\u093f\u0924 (Akaalpidit) = \u0905\u0915\u093e\u0932 \u0938\u0947 \u092a\u0940\u0921\u093c\u093f\u0924 (oppressed from famine)<\/p>\n

3. These compounds are made by omitting the dative case. These compound could be broken by “\u0915\u0947 \u0932\u093f\u090f” (ke liye – for) like in following examples,<\/p>\n

i) \u0926\u0947\u0936 – \u092d\u0915\u094d\u0924\u093f (Desh – Bhakti) = \u0926\u0947\u0936 \u0915\u0947 \u0932\u093f\u090f \u092d\u0915\u094d\u0924\u093f (devotion for a country)
\nii) \u0930\u093e\u0939\u0916\u0930\u094d\u091a (Raahkharch) = \u0930\u093e\u0939 \u0915\u0947 \u0932\u093f\u090f \u0916\u0930\u094d\u091a (expense for a journey)
\niii) \u0930\u0938\u094b\u0908\u0918\u0930 (Rasoighar) = \u0930\u0938\u094b\u0908 \u0915\u0947 \u0932\u093f\u090f \u0918\u0930 (house for a kitchen)<\/p>\n

4. These compounds are made by omitting the ablative case. These compound could be broken by “\u0938\u0947” (Se – from) like in following examples,<\/p>\n

i) \u0926\u0947\u0936\u0928\u093f\u0915\u093e\u0932\u093e (Deshnikaala) (De = \u0926\u0947\u0936 \u0938\u0947 \u0928\u093f\u0915\u093e\u0932\u093e (removed from a country)
\nii) \u090b\u0923\u092e\u0941\u0915\u094d\u0924 (Rinmukt) = \u090b\u0923 \u0938\u0947 \u092e\u0941\u0915\u094d\u0924 (free from a loan)
\niii) \u0927\u0928\u0939\u0940\u0928 (Dhanhin) = \u0927\u0928 \u0938\u0947 \u0939\u0940\u0928 (deficient from money)<\/p>\n

5. These compounds are made by omitting the genitive case. These compound could be broken by “\u0915\u093e” (Kaa – of) or “\u0915\u0947” (Ke – of) or “\u0915\u0940” (Ki – of) like in following examples,<\/p>\n

i) \u0938\u0947\u0928\u093e\u092a\u0924\u093f (Senapati) = \u0938\u0947\u0928\u093e \u0915\u093e \u092a\u0924\u093f (Commander of Army)

6. These compounds are made by omitting the locative case. These compound could be broken by “\u092e\u0947\u0902” (Mein – in) or “\u092a\u0930” (Par – on) like in following examples,<\/p>\n

i) \u0935\u0928\u0935\u093e\u0938\u0940 (Vanvaasi) = \u0935\u0928 \u092e\u0947\u0902 \u0935\u093e\u0938 (lodging in a forest)
