The elephants are big, and so are the fireworks display. The music consists of a drum procession, along with a colorful umbrella display. The whole purpose of the festival is to pay respects to the deity Shiva. The Vadakkunnathan Temple is the largest and oldest temples dedicated to Shiva in Kerala.
