The adjectives are the\u00a0pronouns which are used as the adjectives of \u00a0the nouns. In Hindi, the demonstrative adjective is called \u0938\u093e\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0928\u093e\u092e\u093f\u0915 \u0935\u093f\u0936\u0947\u0937\u0923 (<em>Saarvanaamik Visheshan<\/em>). As you know from the previous posts on the pronoun and adjectives, a pronoun is called \u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0928\u093e\u092e (<em>Sarvnaam<\/em>) and an adjective is called \u0935\u093f\u0936\u0947\u0937\u0923 (<em>Visheshan<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Som of common demonstrative adjectives are \u0915\u094b\u0908 (<em>Koi<\/em> &#8211; Somebody), \u0915\u0941\u091b (<em>Kuch<\/em> &#8211; Something), \u092f\u0939 (<em>Yeh<\/em> &#8211; This),\u00a0\u091c\u093f\u0938\u0915\u093e (<em>Jiska<\/em> &#8211; Whose), etc.\u00a0 For example, the bold words are the\u00a0demonstrative adjectives\u00a0in <strong>\u092e\u0947\u0930\u0940<\/strong> \u092a\u0941\u0938\u094d\u0924\u0915 (<em><strong>Meri<\/strong> Pustak<\/em> &#8211; <strong>My<\/strong> Book), <strong>\u0915\u094b\u0908<\/strong> \u0932\u0921\u093c\u0915\u0940 (<em><strong>Koi<\/strong> Ladki<\/em> &#8211; <strong>Some<\/strong> Girl) and <strong>\u0915\u0941\u091b<\/strong> \u0906\u092e (<em><strong>Kuch<\/strong> Aam<\/em> &#8211; <strong>Some<\/strong> Mango).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In Hindi, the demonstrative adjectives are of four types. Let&#8217;s go through each type with a brief explanation and some examples. The adjectives are shown in bold and the romanized Hindi is given in italics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>1. \u0928\u093f\u0936\u094d\u091a\u092f\u0935\u093e\u091a\u0915 \u0938\u093e\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0928\u093e\u092e\u093f\u0915 \u0935\u093f\u0936\u0947\u0937\u0923 &#8211; Nishchayvaachak Saarvanaamik Visheshan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">These demonstrative adjectives are derived from the indefinite pronouns.\u00a0Some examples are,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A. <strong>\u0909\u0938 <\/strong>\u092a\u0941\u0938\u094d\u0924\u0915 \u0915\u094b \u092e\u0941\u091d\u0947 \u0926\u094b\u0964 &#8211; <em><strong>Us <\/strong>pustak ko mujhe do.<\/em> &#8211; Give me <strong>that<\/strong> book.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">B. <strong>\u092f\u0939 <\/strong>\u0930\u094b\u091f\u0940 \u0924\u0941\u092e\u094d\u0939\u093e\u0930\u0940 \u0939\u0948\u0964 &#8211;<em> <strong>Yeh<\/strong> roti tumhari hai.<\/em> &#8211; This <strong>bread<\/strong> is yours.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>2. \u0905\u0928\u093f\u0936\u094d\u091a\u092f\u0935\u093e\u091a\u0915 \u0938\u093e\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0928\u093e\u092e\u093f\u0915 \u0935\u093f\u0936\u0947\u0937\u0923 &#8211; Anishchayvaachak Saarvanaamik Visheshan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">These demonstrative adjectives are derived from the definite pronouns. Some examples are,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A. \u092c\u093e\u0939\u0930 <strong>\u0915\u094b\u0908 <\/strong>\u0906\u0926\u092e\u0940 \u0916\u0921\u093c\u093e \u0939\u0948\u0964 &#8211;<em> Baahar <strong>koi <\/strong>aadmi khada hai.<\/em> &#8211; <strong>Some <\/strong>one is standing outside. (lit. Some man is standing outside.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">B.\u092e\u0941\u091d\u0947 \u0916\u093e\u0928\u0947 \u0915\u094b <strong>\u0915\u0941\u091b <\/strong>\u092e\u093f\u0920\u093e\u0908 \u0926\u094b\u0964 &#8211; <em>Mujhe khaane ko <strong>kuch <\/strong>mithai do<\/em>. &#8211; Give me <strong>some <\/strong>sweet to eat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>3. \u092a\u094d\u0930\u0936\u0928\u0935\u093e\u091a\u0915 \u0938\u093e\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0928\u093e\u092e\u093f\u0915 \u0935\u093f\u0936\u0947\u0937\u0923 &#8211; Prashanvaachak Saarvanaamik Visheshan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">These demonstrative adjectives are derived from the\u00a0interrogative pronouns.\u00a0Some examples are,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A. <strong>\u0915\u094c\u0928 <\/strong>\u0932\u0921\u093c\u0915\u093e \u0906\u092f\u093e \u0939\u0948? &#8211; <em><strong>Kaun<\/strong> ladka aaya hai?<\/em> &#8211; <strong>Which <\/strong>boy has come?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">B.<strong>\u0915\u093f\u0938 <\/strong> \u0928\u0947 \u0924\u0941\u092e\u094d\u0939\u0947 \u092f\u0939 \u0915\u0939\u093e \u0925\u093e ? &#8211;<em> <strong>Kis <\/strong>ne tumhe yeh kaha tha?<\/em> &#8211; <strong>Who <\/strong>told you that?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>4. \u0938\u0902\u092c\u0902\u0927\u0935\u093e\u091a\u0915 \u0938\u093e\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0928\u093e\u092e\u093f\u0915 \u0935\u093f\u0936\u0947\u0937\u0923 &#8211; Sambandhvaachak Saarvanaamik Visheshan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">These demonstrative adjectives are derived from the\u00a0relative pronouns.\u00a0Some examples are,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A. <strong>\u091c\u094b<\/strong> \u0932\u0921\u093c\u0915\u093e \u0915\u0932 \u0906\u092f\u093e \u0925\u093e, \u0935\u0939 \u0930\u093e\u0915\u0947\u0936 \u0915\u093e \u092e\u093f\u0924\u094d\u0930 \u0939\u0948\u0964 &#8211; <em><strong>Jo<\/strong> ladka kal aaya tha, vah Rakesh ka mitr hai.<\/em> &#8211; The boy <strong>who <\/strong>came yesterday, is friend of Rakesh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">B. <strong>\u091c\u093f\u0938\u0915\u093e <\/strong>\u0915\u093e\u092e \u0939\u094b, \u0935\u094b \u0915\u0930 \u0932\u0947\u0964 &#8211; <em><strong>Jiska <\/strong>kaam ho, vo kar le.<\/em> &#8211; <strong>Whose <\/strong>work is his, will do it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Hindi, there are adjectives which are called the demonstrative adjective.
