These dialects are spread over the entire Hindi speaking region usually termed as Hindi Belt and constitute around\u00a0295\u00a0million native speakers of Hindi (Dialects and Standard Hindi). The region where \u00a0Hindi is spoken are Indian states of\u00a0Bihar,\u00a0Chhattisgarh,\u00a0Delhi,\u00a0Haryana,\u00a0Himachal Pradesh,\u00a0Jharkhand,\u00a0Madhya Pradesh,\u00a0Rajasthan,\u00a0Uttar Pradesh\u00a0and\u00a0Uttarakhand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The large number of speakers makes, Hindi as the 4th position language in the world as per the largest number of its speakers. Hindi is also spoken in almost entire India as the second language of many Indians and it has influenced other languages of India. Because of such a large number of its native speakers, it is suggested that Hindi must be one of the official language of United Nations. In this\u00a0regard, Indian government is pro-actively\u00a0working\u00a0on this matter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">There are many dialect of Hindi which may include major dialects termed as Proper Hindi. In this post, I would like keep the post simple to understand and show you only the \u00a0major dialects of Hindi. These major dialects of Hindi are:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Braj Bhasha (\u092c\u094d\u0930\u091c \u092d\u093e\u0937\u093e)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Braj Bhasha,\u00a0<\/em>consists of two terms <em>Braj\u00a0<\/em>&#8211; a region and\u00a0<em>Bhasha\u00a0<\/em>&#8211; Language,<em>\u00a0<\/em> is a major dialect of Hindi which is spoken in the northwestern part of state of Uttar Pradesh, the eastern part of state of Rajasthan and the southern part of state of Haryana\u00a0. The speakers of this dialect belong to the region which is historically known as Braj (<strong>\u092c\u094d\u0930\u091c <\/strong>also known as <em>Vraj<\/em>) in the Hindu epics of Mahabharata and is considered as the birth place of Hindu God,\u00a0<em>Krishna<\/em>. This dialect is also known as <em>Dehaati Zabaan<\/em> (\u0926\u0947\u0939\u093e\u0924\u0940 \u091c\u093c\u092c\u093e\u0928, &#8216;country tongue&#8217;) and was a prominent dialect before 19th century. This dialect is very important in its contribution to the literature as most of the Hindi literature from the in the medieval period including <em>Bhakti Kal<\/em> (Devotion era c. 1375 to 1700).\u00a0\u00a0The famous\u00a0poets of Hindi like Surdas, Bhai Gurdas and Amir Khusro wrote in Braj Bhasha.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Khari boli (\u0916\u0921\u093c\u0940 \u092c\u094b\u0932\u0940)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Khari boli,<\/em>\u00a0consists of two terms\u00a0<em>Khari<\/em> &#8211; Standing, <em>Boli<\/em> &#8211; Dialect, Language, is the\u00a0important\u00a0dialect of Hindi which is spoken in Delhi, its surrounding area in the state of Uttar Pradesh as well as the western region of \u00a0state of Uttarakhand. At present,\u00a0Khariboli dialect has taken its place as the predominant standard dialect of Hindi.\u00a0As per the schols, it is believed to be developed between the period of\u00a0900-1200 CE. Hindi literature which are composed after 18th century are in <em>Khari Boli<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Haryanvi (\u0939\u0930\u093f\u092f\u093e\u0923\u0935\u0940 )<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Haryanvi <\/em>is another major dialect of Hindi which is similar to the Standard Hindi. It is widely spoken in the northern state of Haryana as well as Delhi. As it seem, this dialect got its name from the state and this term is also used for the people from the Haryana. This dialect finds some similarity with another dialect of Hindi such as <em>Braj Bhasha<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Bundeli (\u092c\u0941\u0928\u094d\u0926\u0947\u0932\u0940 )<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Bundeli<\/em> is a dialect of Hindi which is spoken in the region of Bundelkhand region in the state of Madhya Pradesh as well as in southern parts of Uttar Pradesh. Bundelkhandi and Braj Bhasha find similarity with Braj Bhasha.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Awadhi (\u0905\u0935\u0927\u0940)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Awadhi,<\/em>\u00a0 which is also known with alternate names of <em>Abadhi, Abadi, Abohi, Ambodhi, Avadhi <\/em>and<em> Baiswari,<\/em>\u00a0is another dialect of Hindi which is spoken in the historical region of Awadh (Oudh) of Uttar Pradesh and\u00a0so comes its came to be Awadhi.\u00a0It is also spoken in Uttarvarsh and also finds its speakers in the states of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi as well as\u00a0neighboring\u00a0country, Nepal. \u00a0The Hindi spoken in Fiji is also influenced by Awadhi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Bagheli (\u092c\u0918\u0947\u0932\u0940 or \u092c\u093e\u0918\u0947\u0932\u0940)<\/strong><br \/>\nBagheli is a dialect of Hindi which is spoken in the Baghelkhand region of central India.\u00a0The Bagheli speakers are found mainly in six districts of Madhya Pradesh especially Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Shahdol, Umaria and Anuppur.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Kannauji (\u0915\u093c\u0928\u094d\u0928\u094c\u091c\u0940)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Kannauji<\/em> is a dialect of Hindi which is spoken in the\u00a0parts of tstate of <em>Kannauj<\/em> (\u0915\u093c\u0928\u094d\u0928\u094c\u091c) in the state of\u00a0Uttar Pradesh as well as some other parts of the same state. Some consider <em>Kannauji<\/em> a seperate language of its own which is closely related to Hindi.\u00a0Kannauji also has its two dialects like <em>Tirhari<\/em> and Transitional <em>Kanauji<\/em>, which is between standard Kanauji and Awadhi. In total, it\u00a0boosts about 6 million native speakers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Chhattisgarhi<\/strong> (<strong>\u091b\u0924\u094d\u0924\u0940\u0938\u0917\u0922\u093c\u0940<\/strong>)<br \/>\n<em>Chhattisgarhi<\/em> is a dialect of Hindi which is also the official language in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh and also spoken in adjacent areas of Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, and Jharkhand. The region of\u00a0Chhattisgarh \u00a0is also called\u00a0<em>Daksin Kosal<\/em> in ancient time \u00a0and so the classical name of Chhattisgarhi is <em>Kosali<\/em> or <em>Dakshin Kosali<\/em> with historical significance.\u00a0It has\u00a0approximately 17.5 million speakers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Like other major languages of the world, Hindi also has several dialects.
