This sentence is fine for a male person, but incorrect for a female. Why? The verb declension happens with respect to the gender. Here in this sentence, it is “\u091c\u093e\u0924\u093e” (Jaata), which is declension for masculine noun or pronoun. If there is female person, the verb declension results in “\u091c\u093e\u0924\u0940” (Jaati). The pronoun is “\u092e\u0948\u0902” (Main), which is same for male and female like “I” in English.<\/p>\n
2. \u092e\u0941\u091d\u0947 \u0906\u091c \u0915\u093e\u092e \u0928\u0939\u0940\u0902 \u0915\u0930\u0928\u093e\u0964 (Mujhe aaj kaam nahi karna – I don’t have to work today) and \u092e\u0941\u091d\u0947 \u0906\u091c \u092c\u093e\u0924 \u0928\u0939\u0940\u0902 \u0915\u0930\u0928\u0940\u0964 (Mujhe aaj baat nahi karni – i don’t have to talk today)
\nIn both sentence, we have “\u092e\u0941\u091d\u0947” (Mujhe) and used by same person so how come the verb declensions are different in both of them?
\nTo answer this question, let’s see what’s come in between of “\u092e\u0941\u091d\u0947” (Mujhe) and the verb declensions \u0915\u0930\u0928\u093e (karna) and \u0915\u0930\u0928\u0940 (karni). There is a noun between the twos in each of the sentences and this noun decide the declension for the verb. In first sentence, the gender of “\u0915\u093e\u092e” (Kaam – Work) is masculine and in second, the gender of “\u092c\u093e\u0924” (Baat – Conversation) is feminine.<\/p>\n
3. \u092c\u0938 \u091a\u0932\u0924\u0940 \u0939\u0948\u0964 (Bas chalti hai – Bus runs) or \u092c\u0938 \u091a\u0932\u0924\u093e \u0939\u0948\u0964 (Bas chalta hai – Bus runs)
\nSo, which sentence is correct? Which one is noun? Where is the verb declension?
\nHere, we have noun “\u092c\u0938” (Bas – Bus) which has feminine gender in Hindi and so, the first sentence is correct with the verb declension “\u091a\u0932\u0924\u0940” (chalti – goes).<\/p>\n
Remember<\/strong>: the verb declension which ends with the sound “a” are of masculine and those end with the sound of “i” are of feminine. In Hindi, the verb declension always comes at the end.
