And I can understand that many Hindi learning members wish to write into Hindi too. So in this post, I will show you some of the tools which may be used to write into Hindi (Devanagari script) while using a English (or any Latin script based language) keyboard.

To write in Hindi, you must know the romanized Hindi. Romanized Hindi is formed when you replace the alphabets in Hindi with their similar sounding alphabets in another language. For example, if you want to write word “Name” from English language in Hindi language which will be translated “नाम”. Its romanaized Hindi spelling will be “Naam”. When you write this romanized spelling (“Naam”) into below mentioned tools, the romanized spelling will be transliterated (not translated) to “नाम”. Here, But we should remembers that there is no standard which defines the romanaization of Hindi. The best bet would be to use the form which will transliterate into the right word in Hindi i.e. Naam for “नाम”.

There are some tools which could be used to write in Hindi, both in online and offline mode.

Online Tools:

Online tools can be used by accessing the website and you can write into the specified field in romanized Hindi, while the transliterated message appears in the other field. You need to select the target/translated language to Hindi. Only in Google Input, you are presented with o0nly one field, where you write in romanized Hindi and it is directly transliterated to Hindi which is shown instantly. Downside of such a scheme are that, if you make a mistake you have to delete the entire word to correct it and you can not copy a text to be translated or transliterated into Hindi. If you’re interested in using any of the online tool, please visit the links below:

1.
