Revelation of series of scandals and scams (\u0918\u094b\u091f\u093e\u0932\u0947 – Ghotale) over the last two years has left people in surprise (\u0906\u0936\u094d\u091a\u0930\u094d\u092f – Aashchary) and disbelief (\u0905\u0935\u093f\u0936\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0938 – Avishvaas). Several ministers of ruling party were found to be indulging in these scams and scandals at center and state government level. The total loss has been estimated to be worth several hundred billions dollars.<\/p>\n

Corruption (\u092d\u094d\u0930\u0937\u094d\u091f\u093e\u091a\u093e\u0930 – Bhrastaachar) is a huge problem in India and this menace (\u0938\u0902\u0915\u091f – Sankat) has spread in the state system from top political (\u0930\u093e\u091c\u0928\u0940\u0924\u093f\u0915 – Rajnitik) brass to lowest ranks. Not only has it adversely affected the national economic growth (\u0935\u093f\u0915\u093e\u0938 – Vikas), but also the common man who has to deal with such system on day to day basis. In such corrupt regime (\u0936\u093e\u0938\u0928 – Shaasan), only people of power (\u092a\u094d\u0930\u092d\u093e\u0935 – Prabhaav) and riches (\u0927\u0928 – Dhan) seem to find their way, whereas the poor find it a harsh reality.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Recent revelations of mass corruptions and steaming anguish of several decades have only added oil in the fire. People realized that they have lost many opportunities in education, employment, health and what not, if there had been no corruption of such magnitude (\u092a\u0930\u093f\u092e\u093e\u0923 – Parimaan). Corruption has even found its way into the defense procurement deals, thus jeopardizing the security (\u0938\u0941\u0930\u0915\u094d\u0937\u093e – Suraksha) of people and risking lives of soldiers, an utter respect to the whole nation.\u00a0 Several people decided to stand against (\u0935\u093f\u0930\u0941\u0926\u094d\u0927 – Virudh) such practice and decided to free India and its people from the demon of corruption.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Most notably people include Anna Hazare, a veteran and social activist who has a huge public following. He stirred a national wide protest (\u0935\u093f\u0930\u094b\u0927 – Virodh)<\/span><\/span> in his support by going for an indefinite hunger-strike (\u092d\u0942\u0916\u0939\u0921\u093c\u0924\u093e\u0932 – Bhook hadtal)<\/span><\/span> till the Indian government form an ombudsman (\u0932\u094b\u0915\u092a\u093e\u0932 – <\/span><\/span>Lokpal<\/span>) for India in order to check the corrupt practices at public places. Interesting thing is, the non-violent practice of going to indefinite hunger strike is what Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, did to protest the oppressive practice of British in pre-independence era. He reminded people, a reincarnated form (\u0905\u0935\u0924\u093e\u0930 – Avtaar)<\/span><\/span> of Mahatma Gandhi who is protesting against the Indian government who is accused of mass scale corruption. People found a credible leader (\u0928\u0947\u0924\u093e – Neta)<\/span><\/span> to whom they could follow just like they did to Mahatma Gandhi (\u092e\u0939\u093e\u0924\u094d\u092e\u093e<\/span> \u0917\u093e\u0902\u0927\u0940)<\/span><\/span> and people joined in some of the biggest national wide protests seen after independence. Ruling party promised him that they will introduce the\u00a0ombudsman and requested him to break his hunger strike of a week. Unfortunately, the government (\u0938\u0930\u0915\u093e\u0930 – Sarkar)<\/span><\/span> did not keep the promise until recently when he has gone to a second hunger strike again after 2 years. During these 2 years, there were many other protest and formation of national party by a disciple of Anna Hazare, Arvind Kejriwal, under whom the party contested for state election (\u091a\u0941\u0928\u093e\u0935 – Chunav)<\/span><\/span> for national capital of India, Delhi and defeated the ruling party in his debut election. The defeat (\u092a\u0930\u093e\u091c\u092f – Parajay)<\/span><\/span> of ruling party had shown the wide-spread anger (\u0917\u093c\u0941\u0938\u094d\u0938\u093e – Gussa) <\/span><\/span>of people which forced the government party to make the ombudsman a reality (\u0935\u093e\u0938\u094d\u0924\u0935\u093f\u0915\u0924\u093e – Vaastavikata)<\/span><\/span>. Any further delay would have caused more anger over the government and their support (\u0938\u092e\u0930\u094d\u0925\u0928 – Samarthan)<\/span><\/span> for corruption, which could have resulted defeat in upcoming national elections as people would have voted for other national party who promised to bring transparency to the governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
