They can be thought of vowels and diphthongs in English. Words like \u0906\u092e (Aam &#8211; Common), \u0914\u0930 (Aur &#8211; And), \u0938\u0942\u0930\u091c (Suraj &#8211; Sun), \u0932\u094b\u0915 (Lok &#8211; World. Region) use \u094c, \u0942, \u0947 vowel marks respectively. In Hindi, there are 9 important vowel marks. So, let me show you with some examples.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>1. \u093e &#8211; A<\/strong><br \/>\nThis represent vowel &#8220;a&#8221; in English. It is used to form other alphabets in the Hindi. It can be visualized as &#8220;\u0905&#8221; which is an independent form. So, we have \u0915\u094d + \u0905 = \u0915. This can be used to represent the long vowel, in which case it is written twice. For long vowel like, \u0915\u093e as \u0915\u094d + \u0905 + \u093e = \u0915\u094d + \u0906 = \u0915\u093e. \u0906 is formed by combining \u0905 + \u093e.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>2. \u093f &#8211; I<\/strong><br \/>\nThis vowel mark represent the short &#8220;\u0907&#8221; (independent form) in Hindi or &#8220;i&#8221; in English as in &#8220;bit&#8221;. You can visualize the word combination as \u093f + \u0915 = \u0915\u093f. In English, though, you put vowel after vowel or consonant i.e. to get ki, you combine as K + i = Ki.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>3. \u0940 &#8211; EE<\/strong><br \/>\nThis vowel mark represent the &#8220;\u0908&#8221; (independent form) in Hindi or &#8220;ee&#8221; in English\u00a0as in &#8220;employee&#8221;. You can visualize the word combination as \u0940 + \u0915 = \u0915\u0940.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>4. \u094b &#8211; O<\/strong><br \/>\nThis vowel mark represent the &#8220;\u0913&#8221; (independent form) or &#8220;o&#8221; in English as in &#8220;sole&#8221;. You can visualize the word combination as \u094b + \u0915 = \u0915\u094b.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>5. \u094c &#8211; AU<\/strong><br \/>\nThis vowel mark represent the &#8220;\u0914&#8221; (independent form) or diphthong &#8220;au&#8221; in English as in &#8220;how&#8221;.
