In Hindi, it is called \u0905\u0928\u0941\u0938\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0930 (Anusvar). You can visualize the word combination as \u0905 + \u0902 = \u0905\u0902. The same mark is placed on the vowels to make other nasalized vowels.
