The festival lasts for ten days and honors King Mahabali (<strong>\u092e\u0939\u093e\u092c\u0932\u0940<\/strong>). Mahabali is considered by the people of Kerala as a wise king. His reign is remembered for being the golden age of Kerala history. It\u2019s believed that King Mahabli visits earth on the days the Onam is held. They also wear masks that look like the face of a tiger.
