Rajasthan is famous the world over for its sandy dunes, historical palace residences and vibrant folk attire. However, Rajasthan is also a haven for those looking for ethnic accessories, and lac jewelry in particular.<\/div>\n

Lac jewelry (\u0932\u093e\u0916 \u0917\u0939\u0928\u0947\/lac gehne) is a famous hallmark of Rajasthani crafts, and one of my personal favorites, too. The range and colors of lac accessories is not only mind-boggling, but also a craft unique to the region.<\/div>\n

Lac earrings, especially the dome-shaped hanging ones called \u091d\u0941\u092e\u0915\u093e (jhumka) with little beads munkay\/\u092e\u0928\u0915\u0947\u00a0hanging are delicate and bold at the same time. You can also get lac necklaces (haar\/\u092e\u093e\u0932\u093e), bangles (choodiyaan\/\u091a\u0942\u0921\u093c\u093f\u092f\u093e\u0901), pendants (latakan\/\u0932\u091f\u0915\u0928), and such. You can also find pens coated with lac and embedded with small mirrors (chhote darpan\/\u091b\u094b\u091f\u0947 \u0926\u0930\u094d\u092a\u0923).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
