Today, I\u2019d like to share a few listening resources\/exercises with you. I\u2019ve tried to select representatives of a good range of levels, so I hope that each of you find something that suits you in this meager collection. This one is new to me, but I gave it a quick listen, and it\u2019s among the easiest to follow. Be aware that they\u2019ll still use more complex grammar, like the subjunctive, but it should be sandwiched well enough in context to fill in the blanks.<\/p>\n<p>(2)\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/krakkaruv.is\/thattur\/aevar-visindamadur-fyrsta-thattarod\/aevar-visindamadur-2\"><strong>\u00c6var v\u00edsindama\u00f0ur<\/strong><\/a> \u00a0&#8211; the Icelandic Bill Nye the Science Guy. I recommend this for at least an A2 level of understanding. The show is very illustrative \u2013 by which I mean that, when they use a word that may not be familiar to you, they also hold up the object. Don\u2019t be shy about rewinding a few times.<\/p>\n<p>(3) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ruv.is\/sarpurinn\/ruv\/krakkafrettir\/20170531\">Krakkafr\u00e9ttir<\/a>. <strong>News for kids! <\/strong>I remember something similiar when I was in middle school \u2013 called Channel 1. The newscasters talk really clearly, so it\u2019s a great place to start on your journey to better understanding and pronunciation!<\/p>\n<p>(4) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ruv.is\/frett\/mikill-verdmunur-a-matvoru-milli-land\">Kastlj\u00f3s<\/a>. The buzz this month was the grand opening of Costco here in Iceland \u2013 and Kastlj\u00f3s covers everything from literature to mental health to, well, food cost variations between countries.<\/p>\n<p>(5) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ruv.is\/sarpurinn\/klippa\/vettvangur-dagsins-\">Vettvangur dagsins<\/a>\u00a0on R\u00daV. Have your ear warmed up for this one! This interview will be difficult to follow, but is suitable for an upper intermediate\/advanced learner. Give it a try \u2013 and again, rewind if you need to. (It\u2019s more difficult to understand at various points). #politics<\/p>\n<p>(6) <a href=\"http:\/\/dev.alvarp.is\/?podcast=poetry-go-1-thattur-hundar\">P\u00f3etr\u00fd G\u00f3<\/a> is a new podcast through Alvarp. The hosts interview Icelandic authors about their writing habits, and how those intertwine with walking.
