Get ready for the year ahead and learn a bit of Indonesian language and culture through the country\u2019s holiday calendar for the upcoming year. Known as <strong>cuti bersama<\/strong>, these give people long weekends and are meant to encourage domestic tourism. When combined, Indonesians will enjoy a whopping 21 days of holiday in 2018. To put it into perspective, that&#8217;s double what Americans will get. There are four extra days split before and after Eid al-Fitr, from June 13-14 and also from June 18-19. There&#8217;s also one extra day before Christmas on December 24. The newest Indonesian holiday is Pancasila, which was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejakartapost.com\/news\/2016\/06\/01\/president-jokowi-to-officially-declare-june-1-pancasila-day.html\">announced by President Joko Widodo a few years ago<\/a>.
