While &#8220;saya&#8221; is the more formal version of &#8220;I\/me,&#8221; when talking to a boyfriend\/girlfriend, it&#8217;s more likely you&#8217;ll use the informal &#8220;aku&#8221; instead. If you&#8217;re dating, formalities should no longer be necessary.
