A forma\u00e7\u00e3o do imperativo em ingl\u00eas \u00e9 muito f\u00e1cil em ingl\u00eas: basta eliminar o to <\/strong>do infinitivo e na forma negativa acrescente don’t<\/strong> ao infinitivo sem to<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Stop <\/strong>doing that!<\/em>
\nPare de fazer isso!<\/p>\n

Be <\/strong>a man!<\/em>
\nSeja homem!<\/p>\n

Don’t <\/strong>go over there!<\/em>
\nN\u00e3o v\u00e1 l\u00e1!<\/p>\n

Don’t<\/strong> tell anybody about this!<\/em>
\nN\u00e3o conte a ningu\u00e9m sobre isso!<\/p>\n

Casos especiais<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. O imperativo n\u00e3o exige um sujeito expl\u00edcito em ingl\u00eas, ent\u00e3o consideramos que you seja o sujeito.<\/p>\n

(You) stop doing that!<\/em>
\n (You) be a man!<\/em><\/p>\n

2. Muitas vezes usamos a palavra you, no imperativo negativo, para dar mais \u00eanfase ou mesmo um tom de amea\u00e7a.<\/p>\n

Don’t you<\/strong> touch that wire!<\/em>
\nN\u00e3o toque nesse fio!<\/p>\n

Don’t you<\/strong> tell anybody about this!<\/em>
\nN\u00e3o conte a ningu\u00e9m sobre isso!<\/p>\n

Don’t you<\/strong> come in here!<\/em>
\nN\u00e3o entre aqui!<\/p>\n

3. Quando deixamos o you <\/em>expl\u00edcito no imperativo, salientamos uma ou mais pessoas a quem a ordem \u00e9 dirigida.<\/p>\n

You <\/strong>wait here!<\/em>
\nVoc\u00ea(s) espere(m) aqui!<\/p>\n

You <\/strong>be quiet!<\/em>
\nVoc\u00ea(s) fique(m) quieto(s)!<\/p>\n

4. Para tornar o imperativo mais educado, acrescentamos a palavra please <\/em>(por favor).<\/p>\n

Turn off the lights, please<\/strong>.<\/em>
\nApague as luzes, por favor.<\/p>\n

Answer the phone, please<\/strong>.<\/em>
\nAtenda o telefone, por favor.<\/p>\n

5. Quando nos dirigimos a um grupo de pessoas, podemos usar o imperativo com everybody <\/em>(todo mundo), somebody <\/em>(algu\u00e9m), nobody (ningu\u00e9m) e don’t anybody<\/em> (ningu\u00e9m).<\/p>\n

Everybody pay attention!<\/em>
\nTodos presten aten\u00e7\u00e3o!<\/p>\n

Somebody close that window!<\/em>
\nAlgu\u00e9m fecha aquela janela!<\/p>\n

Nobody say a word!<\/em>
\nNingu\u00e9m diga uma palavra!<\/p>\n

Don’t anybody leave the room!<\/em>
\nNingu\u00e9m saia da sala!<\/p>\n

6. O imperativo tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 usado com uma question tag<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bring me a glass of water, will you<\/strong>?<\/em>
\nMe traz um copo d’\u00e1gua, t\u00e1?<\/p>\n

Turn the TV off, will you<\/strong>?<\/em>
\nDesliga a TV, t\u00e1?<\/p>\n

7. Dois imperativos s\u00e3o unidos pela palavra and<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Come and <\/strong>see us one of these days.<\/em>
\nVenha nos ver um dia desses.<\/p>\n

Go and <\/strong>get yourself an ice cream.<\/em>
\nVai comprar um sorvete pra voc\u00ea.<\/p>\n

Com o verbo to try<\/strong> pode-se usar tanto and como to<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Try and <\/strong>open this bottle of wine.<\/em>
\n Try to <\/strong>open this bottle of wine.<\/em>
\nTente abrir esta garrafa de vinho.<\/p>\n
