O tempo \u00e9 sempre um assunto comum e hoje, em vez de dar aquela lista longa de palavras relacionadas ao tempo, trago um di\u00e1logo sobre dois amigos, Adam e Jessica. Adam mora em Shanghai e Jessica ir\u00e1 visit\u00e1-lo semana que vem. Ela lhe pergunta sobre como vai estar o tempo, mas ele n\u00e3o tem not\u00edcias muito boas…<\/p>\n

Two friends are talking on the telephone. Jessica lives in Los Angeles and Adam lives in Shanghai.<\/em><\/p>\n

Adam<\/strong>: Hello?<\/em><\/p>\n

Jessica<\/strong>: Hi, Adam?<\/em><\/p>\n

Adam<\/strong>: Hey, how are you doing? Are you getting ready<\/strong> (se preparando) for your visit? It’s going to be great. I’m really looking forward to<\/strong> (ansioso para) showing you around<\/strong> (mostrar os lugares tur\u00edsticos de) Shanghai, it’s so exciting.<\/em><\/p>\n

Jessica<\/strong>: Great, me too. Actually <\/strong>(na verdade), that’s why<\/strong> (\u00e9 por isso que) I’m calling. What do you think the weather is going to be like <\/strong>(vai estar) next week? This afternoon I’m just going to do some packing<\/strong> (fazer um pouco de mala).<\/em><\/p>\n

Adam<\/strong>: Well, it’s going to be cooler <\/strong>(mais frio) than Los Angeles and it will surely <\/strong>(com certeza) be rainier <\/strong>(mais chuvoso). In fact, according to the local weather forecast<\/strong> (previs\u00e3o de tempo) it’s going to be partly cloudy<\/strong> (parcialmente nublado) and rainy this week. And then even <\/strong>(at\u00e9 mesmo) rainier next week.<\/em><\/p>\n

Jessica<\/strong>: Really, is it the rainy season<\/strong> (esta\u00e7\u00e3o chuvosa) there now?<\/em><\/p>\n

Adam<\/strong>: Well, it’s not really the rainy season yet but we had some severe weather<\/strong> (tempo ruim) last month. We had showers <\/strong>(pancadas de chuva) every week and, uh, this month is going to be even rainier.<\/em><\/p>\n

Jessica<\/strong>: So I should definitely bring my umbrella.<\/em><\/p>\n

Adam<\/strong>: Yes, you might want<\/strong> (voc\u00ea deveria) to bring a jacket too; it’s a little bit<\/strong> (um pouquinho) cooler than Los Angeles, it will be about 15 degrees when you get <\/strong>(chegar) here. And it might dip down<\/strong> (cair) to around 10 degrees at night.<\/em><\/p>\n

Jessica<\/strong>: 10 degrees! I thought you lived in Shanghai, not in Siberia.<\/em><\/p>\n

Adam<\/strong>: Sorry, I mean<\/strong> (eu quis dizer) 10 degrees Celsius, let’s see, that’s about 48 degrees Fahrenheit?<\/em><\/p>\n

Jessica<\/strong>: Oh, good, that’s more like it<\/strong> (ainda bem). That’s much cooler than Los Angeles but not too severe.<\/em><\/p>\n

Adam<\/strong>: Anyway <\/strong>(enfim), we’re going to have a great time.<\/em><\/p>\n
