Quando esperamos uma resposta afirmativa, usamos uma frase afirmativa e a <em>question tag<\/em> na forma negativa:<\/p>\n<p><em>You <strong>want<\/strong> to do that, <strong>don&#8217;t<\/strong> you?<\/em><br \/>\n<em> She <strong>can<\/strong> speak German, <strong>can&#8217;t<\/strong> she?<\/em><br \/>\n<em> They <strong>were<\/strong> supposed to come, <strong>weren&#8217;t<\/strong> they?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Quando a frase principal tem um verbo auxiliar, o mesmo verbo auxiliar \u00e9 usado na <em>question tag<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p><em>They <strong>are<\/strong> English teachers, <strong>aren&#8217;t<\/strong> they?<\/em><br \/>\n<em> You <strong>have<\/strong> always lived here, <strong>haven&#8217;t<\/strong> you?<\/em><br \/>\n<em> You <strong>can<\/strong> hear me well, <strong>can&#8217;t<\/strong> you?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Quando a frase n\u00e3o tem um verbo auxiliar na frase principal, ent\u00e3o a <em>question tag<\/em> vai conter <em><strong>do<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>does<\/strong> <\/em>ou <em><strong>did<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<p><em>You work in a factory, <strong>don&#8217;t<\/strong> you?<\/em><br \/>\n<em> You don&#8217;t work in a factory, <strong>do<\/strong> you?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>He works as a waiter, <strong>doesn&#8217;t<\/strong> he?<\/em><br \/>\n<em> He doesn&#8217;t work as a waiter, <strong>does<\/strong> he?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>You worked there for many years, <strong>didn&#8217;t<\/strong> you?<\/em><br \/>\n<em> You didn&#8217;t work there for many years, <strong>did<\/strong> you?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; O sujeito da <em>question tag<\/em> \u00e9 sempre um pronome &#8211; ou <em>there<\/em> quando a frase principal come\u00e7ar com <em>there is, there are<\/em> etc. &#8211; mas nunca um substantivo:<\/p>\n<p><em>This bar <strong>is<\/strong> crowded tonight, isn&#8217;t it?<\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong> There&#8217;<\/strong>s a drugstore around the corner, isn&#8217;t there?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Casos Especiais<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Quando a frase principal come\u00e7a com I am, a question tag \u00e9 <strong>aren&#8217;t I?<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<p><em>I&#8217;m stronger than you, aren&#8217;t I?<\/em><br \/>\n<em> I&#8217;m bothering you, aren&#8217;t I?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Quando a frase principal come\u00e7a com <strong>Let&#8217;s<\/strong>, a <em>question tag<\/em> \u00e9 <strong>shall we?<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<p><em>Let&#8217;s start work now, shall we?<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Let&#8217;s not argue over that, shall we?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Frases imperativas &#8211; afirmativas ou negativas &#8211; se tornam mais polidas acrescentando-se a <em>question tag<\/em> <strong>will you?<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<p><em>Turn down that radio, will you?<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Don&#8217;t open the window, will you?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;
