roll recently (<strong>nasc th\u00edos<\/strong>), I thought it would be fun to try some more examples, this time embedded in Irish versions of famous (or not-so-famous) film titles.\u00a0 So I&#8217;ll provide the Irish phrase for context, and see if you can fill in the blank, using the ordinal number with the right suffix.\u00a0 Not that hard since there are only three patterns for making ordinal numbers in Irish.\u00a0 And one of them is the &#8220;-\u00fa&#8221; ending we&#8217;ve seen before.\u00a0 The other two I&#8217;m leaving up to you to remember!<\/p>\n<p>For simplicity&#8217;s sake, I&#8217;m focusing on &#8220;first&#8221; to &#8220;tenth&#8221; here.\u00a0 Eventually maybe I&#8217;ll look for some examples of film titles with numbers like &#8220;eighty-sixth&#8221; or &#8220;thirty-ninth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Freagra\u00ed th\u00edos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>BTW, for any teachers using this, it&#8217;s pretty self-explanatory, and the ordinal numbers from 1 to 10 are usually taught pretty early on in any course sequence.\u00a0 So I&#8217;m not teaching them here as such, but they can be found in the answer key, of course. \u00a0The date of the film, given in parentheses, may help trigger one&#8217;s memory of the film.\u00a0 The blanks are all the same length; OK, I basically made up &#8221;\u00a0<strong>*Siorcnado<\/strong>,&#8221; but it is based on the Irish for &#8220;shark&#8221; (<strong>siorc<\/strong>), unless, that is, you&#8217;re talking about a few types of sharks that are not called &#8220;<strong>siorc<\/strong>&#8221; in Irish (<strong>liamh\u00e1in gr\u00e9ine<\/strong>, basking shark,\u00a0<strong>agus sionnach mara<\/strong>, thresher shark aka sea fox; <strong>t\u00e1 dorn\u00e1n eile ann, b&#8217;fh\u00e9idir \u00e1bhar blag eile?
