A link to the article is given below but I’m refraining from naming the island here, since I hope doing this exercise and looking at the map in the graphic may lead you to figure it out, or at least figure out the general region.\u00a0 The answer is below, beneath the first chart.<\/p>\n

Before we start, two quick spelling points based on the text for the graphic:<\/p>\n

1) Why “t” before “oile\u00e1n<\/strong>“?\u00a0 Because “c\u00e9n<\/strong>” is really “c\u00e9<\/strong>” (which\/what) + “an<\/strong>” (the).\u00a0 “Oile\u00e1n”<\/strong> is masculine, so a “t” gets prefixed, as it would for “C\u00e9n t-\u00fall?<\/strong>” or “C\u00e9n t-or\u00e1iste?<\/strong>”\u00a0 So “What island is this?” becomes “C\u00e9n t-oile\u00e1n \u00e9 seo?<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

2) Why is there a hyphen (fleisc\u00edn<\/strong>) in pt. 1 above \u00a0and in the graphic but not in the title of the blogpost?\u00a0 Because the title uses capital letters for the main words and the fleisc\u00edn<\/strong> is dropped when the lower-case “t” is followed by an upper-case letter.<\/p>\n
