  1. Charles M. Madigan:

I love the music of Fiorella Mannoia.

I like her song: Sempre per sempre.

  2. Jim Hartley:

Le mie tre preferite: Francesco Guccini, Il Vecchio e un Bambino; Danilo Sacco (Nomadi), Abbi Cura di Te; e Eros Ramazzotti, Se Bastasse una Canzone.

  3. Joan Engelhaupt:

Oh, anything by Bellini, Donizetti, or Verdi.

  4. Gerard Wilkes:

    Brividi di Annalisa Scarrone

  5. Elizabeth Fletcher:

    Ciao Brigette e tutti lettori,
Being a little old school, let me suggest Laura Pausini with Lara Fabian live in Rome singing “La Solitudine”. Also Ed Sheeran and Andrea Bocelli together singing “Perfect”. Both YouTube views are excellent. Enjoy!
    Elizabeth

  6. Carol B:

Ciao. Mi piace moltissimo “Caruso”. Pavarotti l’ha cantato tra alcuni altri.

  7. Dana Weiss:

I can’t get the song “Grazie Roma” by Antonello Venditti out of my head!

  8. Andrea Pozza:

  9. Dennis Criteser:

“Caruso” – Lucio Dalla. “Napul’è” – Pino Daniele. “Non insegnate ai bambini” – Giorgio Gaber. “Acqua e sale” – Mina and Adriano Celentano. “Dicitencello vuje” – Roberto Murolo. “Cu’mmè” – Enzo Gragnianiello. “Il tempo di morire” – Lucio Battisti. “Vedrai, vedrai” – Luigi Tenco. “Creuza de ma” – Fabrizio De André. “Povera patria” – Franco Battiato. “Rundinella” as done by Massimo Ranieri. “Simme ‘e Napule paisà” as done by Gabriella Ferri. “Vengo anch’ie no tu noi” – Enzo Jannacci.

  10. Dennis Criteser:

Obviously, I mis-typed that last song – “Vengo anch’io no tu no.”

  11. Tina Volz-Ryti:

Zucchero – Madre Dolcissima; Il Volo; Senza Una Dona
Lucio Dalla – Tu Non Mi Basti Mai
    Antonello Venditti – Amici Mai
Renato Zero – La Tua Idea
    Eros Ramazzotti – all songs

  12. Lesley Brennan:

Mi piacciono le cantante degli ’60’s. Assolutamente Fabrizio d’Andre, anche Mina, Gianni Morandi, Albano, Rita Pavone e Domenico Modugno.

  13. Tom Hope:

    Irene Grandi: Estate

  14. SS:

    Mi piacciono le cantante de
    Eros ramazzoti!

  15. Chris Jolley:

Il mio cantante preferito è Caparezza. Great songs like Goodbye Malinconia, Nell’acqua, and many more thoughtful well written songs. But not to everyones taste I believe.
Also I like Noemi, the top ones being Vuoto a Perdere & Autunno good to listen to when learning Italian. Then, Sai Che by Marco Mengoni.

  16. Anne:

    All songs by:
    Tiziano Ferro
    Marco Mengoni
    Andrea Bocelli

  17. Donna:

Azzurro, popularized by Adriano Celentano, but I prefer the version by Paolo Conte, who wrote it.

  18. Colleen Watson:

I listen to Ligabue, Vasco Rossi and Gianna Nannini a lot. I find their music and lyrics help tremendously with my Italian. Especially Ligabue, a true poet.

  19. Jemma:

I have a number of favourite Italian artists, in no particular order or any specific song off the top of my head, but I play a cd and just leave it on:
    Zucchero Fornaciari
    Gianna Nannini
    Giusy Ferrari
    Noemi
    Jovanotti
    Vasco Rossi
    Ligabue
    Moda
    Lucia Dalla
    Mango
    Eros Ramazzotti
    Luciano Pavarotti

  22. Joan Patenaude-Yarnell:

A me piacciano le canzone populare di oggi . Ma penso un nome meglio per questa lista sarebbe
“canzone populari Italiani”. “La Musica Italiana” ha una storia di 400 (specialmente la musica vocale) i.e.
    Scarlatti, MOnteverdi, Cimarosa, Rossini, Bellini,
Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini. E non dimenticare canzoni neopolitani – e cantanti come Gigli, Pavaratti, etc. chi hanno cantato canzone italiani come nessun altro.
